Tell me what I already know…this is too much rust, right? (1 Viewer)

This one just went live on BaT and it’s everything I’m looking for (year, color, mileage) but it’s a New England vehicle and the rust shows it.

Tell me this is too rusty to bid on and to wait for something else. I know that’s the smart play but man… so close.

We have a 2006 that has a frame that looked a little better than this when we bought it. A few months later when the fluid film wore off a lot of rust damage started showing. I would want to crawl under this one with a screwdriver or something to check the frame, body supports, and crossmembers.

The rear passenger lower shock support has an extra hole that shouldn’t be there.
Too bad, because besides the rust it’s a really pretty truck.

I'm in your same boat, man. But I had to pass on this, too.

PER the BAT listing, new catalytic converters, on such a low mileage rig, why? The one image of the service record shows only cat back work. Either that is a discrepancy or something happened to foul the cats. The new muffler from 2021 and 10k miles ago is already starting to look sad.

I do see visual evidence that the fuel tank protector straps were also recently replaced. I suspect that rust may have eaten through the protector itself as it looks new. No mention of that in the listing.

If the spare tire carrier is any indication, the rig probably just sat outside exposed to the elements or was put away wet in the garage and did not get the love it deserved.

Well it sold for $31,500.
Yeah that was surprising to me. The clean frame one sold for $39,300 but I’m surprised the rust didn’t depress the price more. I was expecting $25ish.

Are 100 series prices still climbing? I may be getting priced out of what I think a clean 100 is worth.

I think 100’s are climbing. The 200 and 80 series seem to be stalling/lowering still.
