If I have no other obligations that weekend, you can count me in!

Can we start getting an idea of who can come please? And i would really like to do some work on our tail ditches also. If the wife will agree with it i could bring my tractor for that.

I will be there as long as something work related doesn't pop up.

Where's everyone staying for the weekend? Do we have the free stay at Arrowhead for volunteering? If we get enough turnout, could we get a group camp for free?

I'd hope so

I should say if i'm there most likely Andrea will be there to pitch in also.

That is a good question :hhmm:

How big of an area will we have to clear for this?

Any tools you need us to bring?

My plans are to work on our trail. We have put in enough time on others so far this year.

I would like to see if we could rent a small Bobcat or the likes for it to clear tail ditches while i drop some trees over a few new 4 wheeler trails. And dome other just general maintenance gets done out there.

I am sure we could get a group camp if so desired

Stacy has her CCP class on Saturday so I am going to try to get the crew to come down Sunday. What time are you going to start on Sunday?

I thought we were making a parking lot and camping site this weekend, or am I getting it confused with another one

We are working on the parking lot / camping site, to make it better, but why stop there and not get more work done. :hillbilly: :hillbilly: :hillbilly:

Not really much put out about this weekend exactly yet.

HI Everyone – First off, I want to thank everyone that came up last weekend and volunteered. Drew said you got all but one piece of guardrail installed at Kodak Rock. That is excellent work!!! We appreciate it very much. I was going to have a meeting and field review of the OHV Trails for the clubs & the FS to come up with long-term needs on each trail for us to work on over the year. I’m going to cancel that instead. Since we’re working on the big stewardship project for March 16 & 17th I’d rather have folks volunteer for that if they can and also we might be burning on Saturday March 9th and that would mess things up with the schedule.

On March 16th I propose that for an hour or so on that day I meet with 1 club representative from each club that can make it and we discuss the adopt-a-trail program and how to improve communication and how to improve the program. I’d like to go over expectations too. Then the clubs can designate one person to ride the trails on either March 16 or 17 to take an inventory of trail needs for your respective trails. If a club cannot have a representative there on that weekend then they can meet with me another day and can ride their trail and do their inventory on the April or May work weekend.

Thank you everyone. Please remember to let Scott Fields & I know if you or your club will be able to volunteer on the March 16 & 17th work weekend. John Deere, Tread Lightly, James River Equipment, Uwharrie Off-Road Training Center & the Uwharrie NF are hoping that this will be a great effort for trail stewardship and will be a jumping off point for other projects. Thank you again for all of your time, effort, donation of equipment and support of the motorized trails on the Uwharrie NF. Bye - Terry

Totally agree, I was just under the impression that those two things would take close to all weekend to complete.

See, the bad part is, the FS does not want us putting up the wooden fencing as they have their engineers doing that for it to be " correct ", their words.

I am affraid at this time there will be a bunch of standing around by people, and i would just like to have something to be doing incase.
