Another request for list of needed tools.

Chainsaws? Shovels? Mighty math powers?

Believe I'm good for one day.

Standard or Metric??? ;) I kid I kid

It may serve to point out that this most likely isn't the greatest trail clean up for kids due to the large equipment and dump trucks that will be roaming a very tight area.

There are going to be a lot of people and trucks up there with the NC4x4 guys up there also.

Sombody watches Team Umizoomi a little too much! Don't ask me how I know!

Lately I've been blessed with refreshing episodes of Super Why! and now also have the power to read. :hillbilly:

For those that said they may make it on sunday where should they meet?

Same exact place.

Just got off the phone with Terry up there (USFS lady) and she said we will be working on the front part of ours as was already known and the others also. She also mentioned that RML had a new issue that was going to need to be taken care of that weekend also. SHe did not elaborate so i am unsure of what that will consist of at this time. MY main goal is to work on our trail this weekend and our trail only. I would like for all of us that show up to make our trail the priority for us but i am by no means enforcing anybody to do the same. You are all volunteers and you can do / go where you feel you are needed most. I am just spending the next few workdays concentrating on ours to get it up to standard.

Right now my plan is to bring my tractor and clean out the tail ditches and go from there if we have any straw bails to put down, unless Terry tells me otherwise.

Here is the info from Terry up there.

Hi Everyone – The big Tread Lightly & John Deere & Uwharrie NF Stewardship Project is coming up this weekend and here are the general details for everyone. The biggest thing is that we’re meeting somewhere new to start with. Please get the word out to all of your members even if you can’t make it.

Meet at 9 am at the Uwharrie Off-Road Training Center on Hwy 109 N (the wooden barn) across from the Eldorado Outpost. If you’re going to camp overnight Scott Fields is offering camping at the training center for free and he’ll have port a potties set up. For showers that weekend volunteers can go to the Badin Lake Group Camp and shower for free. There are people that have reserved Camp site C at Group Camp so please let the volunteers know to be courteous and to not over take the showers there but to maybe go in shifts. We’ll have t-shirts, carabineers, and other freebies for the volunteers!

We’ll meet at the UORTC on both days at 9 am and then go over the projects and divide groups up. Please tell folks to bring the following tools if they have them because we’re not sure what project they’ll be working. Ask them to bring shovels, rakes, rock bars, chains, sledge hammers, socket sets/ ratchets, hammers, etc. Also, remind them to wear work boots, appropriate clothing & layers for getting muddy, bring work gloves, water and some food. Let everyone know to plan on working roughly 9 am to 5 pm. If they have to leave earlier that’s ok. If they can only come 1 day that’s ok too.

Food on Saturday will be provided for lunch & supper and on Sunday breakfast, lunch and supper will also be provided. Bring some snacks & water though because you might get hungry before the food makes it to you.

The overall projects will be installing 3 kiosks, installing the wooden guiderail (the fencing around our trailheads), installing guardrail, seeding and mulching some disturbed areas, and installing wooden bollards.

We need about 40 volunteers to get all of these projects done and to get things ready for opening day on March 29th. Thanks a lot. We appreciate it.

Bye - Terry

Last correction from her.

One more thing. I made a mistake on the food. The food will be lunch & supper on Saturday & then breakfast & lunch on Sunday. Sorry about that. Please let your folks know about this correction. Thank you. Bye - Terry

Possible John Vee and Sarah for Saturday or Sunday
Possible Eric Rymer for Sunday

Can we get everyone that confirmed to reconfirm and see if there is anyone else that may be able to make it out there. No worries if you can't.
Everyone's life is busy and with kids it makes making work events that much harder.

May have a buddy join me also. Not 100% about him yet as he has been sick all week.

Darin, I might be making it out Saturday, as soon as the wife knows for sure she is not on standby at the Urgent Care Clinic. If I can, and can make it to the dump, I'll bring the trailer with;). If not, I will be heading to the Nam in the next few weeks. Now I just have to figure how to get Brett's rack from CLT:grinpimp:

If brett can get it up to URE this weekend then i can always keep it here for you. I need to know if you are going to make it up there though, as i will need to bring some coin of some sort for you.

No hurry for the trailer though. Use it for what you need prior to bringing it out here.

Yeah, don't think any of the CLT guys are trailering it this time. If I make it, no worries on the pesos, we will figger it out;)
