Westies are so cool, my in laws had one for years. Non stop energy and over the top fierce. I love the look on his face, " All my damn stuff was in here an hour ago"

Agree. I love a Westie. "Had" one for a while (translation ... lived with a girl that had one). Playful, fierce, loyal, and loving. There is a parent at school that waits in the student pickup line each day and brings her pup Westie. I know she thinks I'm nuts because I'm always going out of my way to stop by and play (with the dog for you that are thinking something else).

All of our dogs are rescues.

From left, Cali our 10 yr old Jack Russell Terrier, Shelby our 10 yr old Corgi, and Lynda Carter our 7 yr old Chiweenie.

And this is Bear, our 16 year old Chow.

Odd looking Corgi. My son had two, short legs and stout bodies, about twice the size of yours. Would eat anything, barked a lot and was a terrific guard dog, alerted at the slightest noise.

When we picked her up, she was advertised as a Rat Terrier... We got all 4 dogs DNA tested and it turned out she was half Welsh Corgi and half Rat Terrier. She has the Corgi butt and looks more like a Corgi than a Rat, so we just went along with it. But yeah, along with the Chiweenie and Chow, she's a mutt. She doesn't bark much, but she loves to eat.

Not real important what breed or combination of. But, I do know there are more dogs I would like to know than humans. A dog will let you know immediately if you are tolerated, a human will hide that.

Welcome to the fold Sam, 3/4 Jack and 1/4 Corgi. I'm not so sure on the breeds, time will tell. Heather was beyond heart broken over Simon passing and was thinking about a puppy for the last few months anyway. But it's not her toe being gnawed on as I type :)

How freaking cute Stan. Really sorry for the loss and I know that cute little fur ball will have a wonderful home.

He's high energy for sure.

Here's our 3 furry kids, which 2 have made appearances at ONSC events.

Denver at 8 years is the perfect uncle and Fur brother. He also was one of my best students.

Cheyenne, the goof ball with ADD, who somehow manages to win in the confirmation and rally rings.

Apache, Denver's 2 year old niece and lil mushie's fur playmate. This picture is from last winter when she was 30lbs lighter.

My little dude is sick :( Been throwing up for the last few days - brought him to the vet and they're doing lots of tests and tomorrow an ultrasound. They're saying it's liver related and 'don't get your hopes up'....

Wish him luck. I love this dumb little dog....

Sorry to hear he's not doing well James. Hoping for the best.

Praying and hoping for the best.

They don't hunt.
They're not much for fetching.
Not too bright, so obedience training is out.
BUT if you want a dog to just chill on the couch with you, pugs are the only breed bred specifically for that purpose.

Hoping for the best, James. Amazing how quadrapeds can turn us to mush.

Amen brother. Our big Hemingway cat, Ian has always been a scrapper and lately he has been a little beat up. Well last night Max, the yellow dog, looked like the losing prize fighter, one eye all puffed up and cut up. Lip gnarled up some and swollen, couple cuts on his head and paw. Which gave me the perfect chance to grab the 22 Henry and a headlamp and go see if I could spot some eyes. 20 minutes later and all the testosterone burnt off, I came in :)

Have a heart trap is set out front at the scene of the crime.....

We've got a 12+ year old Maltese named Angel. She has gotten us through some tough times, just as we've gotten her through a few. She was at the vet this afternoon, ear infections. She's a trooper, and man, I would love to sleep as hard as she does. Surprisingly, she was quite accommodating when the dingleberry below entered our house.

A couple years ago, we "inherited" a 6 year old border collie, Sam. He's smart, extremely perceptive and sensitive, but he is scared to death of thunderstorms, jet airplanes, fireworks, etc. Talking batsheet crazy. I still have to repair/replace a door and doorframe on our 2nd bathroom, because we put him in there during a storm when we were gone for an evening. Fortunately he didnt take out his fear on the maple cabinets. LOL. We think his first owner either kept him tied up outside during storms, or shot around him, and reinforced his paranoia of loud stuff. We can give him 4 benadryl, and it wont even take the edge off. Tried a thunderjacket, which only made him look like a panicing millenial in line at starbucks. Which really sucks, because I absolutely love thunderstorms. He forces me to walk at least 3 miles a day, which supposedly is good for me LOL. He is also quite a jealous one, who cant stand it when someone else is getting attention.

Together, the two of them make an awesome watchdog pair. Sam guards the rear, staring at squirrels and deer with the intensity of Rambo (take your pick, 1, 2, or III). Angel guards the front door(since she loves laying in the sun), and she will only bark at unfamiliar vehicles or people, and the little peckerhead down the street that she doesnt like. Once one barks, its on like donkey kong, and it takes an act of congress to get them both to shut up.
