Not a new owner. I bought a used MULE pro fxt about 18 months ago. BLUF: I like and recommend the Kawasaki MULE. Tough little machine. Governed top end of 45mph, you have to stop to engage 4wd/rear diff lock. Longer post to follow:

Prior owner beat it like a rented....mule. I checked it over as best I could prior to sale without tools (oil looked clean, no odd sounds when starting from cold, etc). Seller seemed like a solid guy, but a little simple. Looks like it was an act all along (think "simple southern country boy" type act). Only after I got home did I start uncovering the "painted rust" - mud in coolant overflow bottle, etc.

I baselined all fluids with new amsoil UTV fluids. Old stuff didn't look bad thankfully. I used Amsoil low tox coolant after flushing coolant system, washing out mud from overflow bottle. Coolant coming out looked nice and green without particulate (as far as I could see). I got new tires for it and knocked down some of the old hard hits on the frame that were showing some surface rust and topped off with Rustoleum stop rust spray paint. I swapped out old stripped skid Philips head screws to some hex head bolts and anti-seize to make future removal easy and not an ordeal.

I replaced the radiator cap as I usually do that as PM around the 10 yr mark regardless of vehicle. I replaced the spark plugs and bought a new Gates kevlar drive belt thinking I'd change the original one given it's almost 10. I then read about some guys getting a LOT of use from their OEM belt. That hasn't happened yet. I am going to swap out coolant again with the Amsoil low tox stuff given the trash I saw in the overflow bottle and when that happens I'll change the thermostat too.

I'd recomend OEM parts when possible (save for drive belts per the Kawi-rider forum experience). I have a local-ish dealer I have used once and they were ok for parts. I usually get my stuff from country cat in MN. It's pretty easy to work on. I modified the back seat setup (read: drilled a big hole and put in an access door) to make oil filter access easier than removing all sorts of sh*t to get my ham-hands in there.

I could've likely avoided a lot of what I did, but I want this thing to last. I have friends with Can-am's. They like to eat drive belts iirc. The gators seem nice, but are spendy when new. TBH I went to price a new mule before I bought this one and the guy quoted something close to $32k iirc for a new pro fxt. I couldn't help but laugh. I thanked him for his time and left. Immediately.

LMK if you want more info, but thought this would be a good start.

@Kaderabek Todd - how are you managing?
Found this thread searching for Todd. Been wondering how he made out with the storm but haven't seen anything here or anywhere (facebook/insta etc). Anyone know? Prairie Canucks aren't affected much by hurricanes but they fill the news and I always wonder what Cruiserheads are in harm's way.

I want to keep this question laser focused to avoid peripheral political discussion, how are incoming tariffs going to affect the Toyota parts market?

I know used parts based here in the US should be clear, but I can't think of any new Toyota parts made for the Land Cruiser made here. It all comes from Japan.

Mechanic keeps finding things wrong with my 62.
Time is the enemy. Sitting [almost] two years was not good for her.
Ehhhhhh. Well it'll be mechanically good after this...right?

Yall have a wonderful evening and [upcoming] weekend

Tariffs work like this.

Govt puts tariffs on incoming goods to pressure buyers to buy parts from non-tariff'd places (ideally in country, mfg in USA).

If the item you're buying can only come from a place that has a tariff on it then you pay the tariff cost, period. It is always passed onto the consumer, just like fuel surcharges, or increased shipping costs for any other reason.

To answer directly, if the tariffs come to pass, and Japan (or whatever country the part comes from) is a target of that tariff, then the part you're buying is more expensive.

End of story.

I can echo this sentiment, things stay better if I drive close to 2-3 turns a week.

This. For better or worse.

Everything Johnny said is accurate. To add to that, another effect can be that domestic producers of competing products see the rise in the price of the foreign product and they can then raise their price a little bit and still remain competitive. So it's not just the tariffed products that go up in price.

The benefit of a tariff is that it creates an incentive to buy domestically produced products, which is certainly not a bad thing by itself. However, if the goal is to curb inflation, tariffs are not the answer. They do the opposite.

Not sure yet as we will have to wait and see.... as toyota is a very large company and does operate manufacturing facilities here for 10s of thousands of vehicles along with 10s of thousands of jobs there and at dealerships they may be exempt from any proposed tariffs on their parts.
There has been a long history of parts, companies and needed resources not being bundled in tariffs placed on specific countires due to any number of reasons.

All those reasons lead to more $$$ for those at the top calling the shots, be they in business or government. The results are generally the same. Want truth, follow the money. My grandmother taught me that when I was a young teen, early 70s, remains true today.

That said, I have no doubt we will see parts prices continue to rise. These days it is a given. If you told me five years ago that a -6 AN 90 degree fitting would be over $25.00 I'd have said "Nahhhhh, won't happen"

Went to the mall to get some pants for work, decided to walk around afterwards, get some steps in
Spotted this for sale, a Land Cruiser RC car
I thought it was neat, thought I'd share

these have been out for a while..... they seem to all have the same body mold and have undergone some upgrades/mods depending on the company.

Andrea got me the red "katana" about 4 years ago. It was decent bit not really a great out of the box crawler.
Then ROC/FMS got the rights to actually use the toyota and the 80 series name and changed quite a bit. Got lots of accolades by the you tube testers in the 1:18 stock crawler segments.
So I bought one but haven't actually taken it out of the box yet. Doh!!

Reason is I got the GT-Four on top at the dame time and was having a blast ripping around the forest area of my property with it. Waiting for some suspension upgrades to come in for it.
If you dig around on YouTube there are some cheap to free mods to do to the cruiser to improve its performance a bit.

Im not an RC guy, so I dont follow that stuff so i didnt know it was an old(er) thing and well known already.
Also, that GT4 is awesome. As a toyota guy (four currently) and 2 of the 4 have the 'same' 3SGTE as the Celica GT4...Im a fan!

I've been looking at watches. Haven't wore one since I used to rawk a Citizen for work, before smartphones were big - LOL.

Anyhoo - Found this Casio Mudman that is a TLC version - thought I would pass it along :)

I'm looking for something a little cheaper in Casio, but love the 9500 series due to the face, larger full illum face.

Also thinking about going with an Eco Drive Citizen dive watch due to a couple different factors, but mostly a huge sale right now LOL.

@weejub Citizen eco drive Garrison has served me well. I am trying to get away from my cell phone and this watch helps.
