Finally, a cool (if imperfect) EV, hopefully it sees the light of day: The Bollinger B1 is an all-electric truck with 360 horsepower and up to 200 miles of range

Toyota V8s, not power houses by any definition, but man they are magical.

What's in your Lexus, 3UZ?

Edit- Looks like a 430, so i guess it would be :)

A used prius drive train in a cool vehicle that will replace golf carts. Series II with a prius drive train that I drive less than 15 miles a day. It is not 60k. When that is figured out some one will make a fortune.

Yeah not a speed monster compared to some mercs in the big barge class but the 3UZ used all of its 300hp in the upper rpms. Going to miss it when it sells.

Pretty much how I buy the majority of my oil these days.

Anyone with experiences on the Cooper SST MT's.... found a used set local so I can get these damn DUBs off of my 100.

Yep - they chunk bad if you abuse them on the rocks. Hell, the two I put on the front of my 60 have already started chunking from just occasional street use. That said, very aggressive tread, very cool looking tire, and a good price...

Good traction and clean well. The SST pro's are supposedly more resistant to chunking but I think that is what James has on his 60..... the original SST's I had did lose lugs at a rapid rate..... may or may not have had something to do with not conceding to defeat on ledge one at daniel.

So I'm outsourcing to people smarter and more experienced than I am. Starting the search for a truck - couple requirements:

4x4
crew-cab
warrantied (so new or semi-new with <50k miles so I can slap on an extended warranty)
budget $40k

I need the truck to be able to carry supplies for business - plywood, lumber, metric ton of axes, etc. I'm not going to be going far, so I can make do without a long bed and strap things down. We plan on eventually building a mobile axe throwing trailer to continue mobile events/marketing and early planned weight on the trailer is ~4500#.

I'm basically thinking about a new F150 and a slightly used F250 or GMC/Chevy 2500. Sorry Dodge fans, they are out.

The 2017 F150s look great and with 2018 refresh coming out in the next few months, I can probably get a good deal on the '17 model. I don't think I absolutely need a diesel even though I want one because cool factor. 4x4 isn't needed but I'm thinking of resale value. Crewcab is only necessary because our only other car is a Mini Cooper and we need something a little bigger. Warranty because I don't have time to deal with something being unreliable.

Thoughts?

@tgadd See what the tax man says about depreciation allowances. I seem to recall something about over 6000lbs GVWR, which even an F150 should meet, for business use being able to write off an insane percentage the first year, allowing you to replace it much earlier than something under 6000 GVWR. Didn't even have to be brand new (as of 2 years ago when I new what I was talking about), but that helps make a new model more attractive.

Thanks @JohnVee - will reach out to our accountant and start learning what makes most sense.

Also - if anyone is looking for a SBC 40 or a original IH Travelette. You know who to reach out to. 40 will be up for sale once I put the bumpers and tire carrier on. Travelette will be for sale once we finish our mobile marketing in September.

Check with the accountants, as tax laws change every year. They may recommend leasing too if you keep it all under the company name.

Sad to hear that you're selling your way out of the club. Hopefully you find something that works for your business
