Well processing some of these are taking forever on my work PC so i'll just post a link to the couple hundred pics we have after I get them all off of the camera, two phones and two tablets we were using.
But anyway that event was one of greatest 4 days we've ever had. We did a about 2 classes a day and just mingled most of the time. Did some trail rides, obstacle course, Andrea did a girls only class and is now thinking of doing the Rebelle Rally next year down in CA. The spotters were all ex-camel trophy guys and Land Rover had the new discovery for us to drive. Without talking about LR reliability i'll say that thing was more comfortable off road than my lexus ls430 is on road... it was just unreal the technology in the suspension on that. The desk to glory guys were there and gave a 1 hour class/lecture after dinner on their travels.
On the trail runs we went from sun to rain to snow to fog and back to son the elevation and different topography on the trails around there were nuts.
The raffle had I think around 60k in prizes and every attendee got one ticket per day to spread out the prizes to the maximum. We sadly didn't win anything but have our fingers crossed for next year.
Ninkasi Brewery sponsored the event and tapped 3 kegs every evening. Cole street brewing sent 3 kegs of the overlander IPA up with Northwest Overland, Metal Tech gave away limited edition glasses full with a manhattan at their happy hour, Torfab did a 3 kegs of PBR at their happy hour (
@alk747triodad you know that was Logan approved), Warn brought a ton of wine up for a wine tasting class... I talked to the event coordinator about doing a Scotch Class next year and I have some time to figure out if I can pull that off or not. I went up there with 12 beers for Andrea and I and we left with 10 because there was so much free stuff floating around.
Talked to the owner of Overland Coffee who is also the editor for 4wd Toyota Owner Magazine and after about 20 minutes we both suddenly realized at the same time that we went to high school together. His 3F troopy was pretty bad ass.
Got to know the most of the sponsors pretty well and got invited to an event at one of them in seattle next saturday night they are putting on.
there were, it seemed like 1000 trucks there and everybody was just cool as hell. Makes me want to drive up to the BC overland rally this weekend but I can't take anymore time off of work right now.
Anyway here are some pics I'll post the link to my flickr page once they are all up there.
By far the best $165 i've ever spent for Andrea and I.
2.8 cummins... TorFab was given two of them, along with various jeep, land rover, etc shops to put in different rigs and show off. They are throwing one in a 40 and one in a 60.
Talked to Mark about shooting down to Metal Tech to get some OPOR sliders in September.
