Sarah went to Black Balsam this past weekend. FYI - they now require bear canisters for food. Not sure if this is temporary or permanent but it's something to keep in mind before you head up there. She didn't see any bears but other campers claimed to have seen signs of them.

Unsure. This requirement is for hiking/camping. Sarah left her food in her car and went back for it when needed. BB is closed to vehicle trails/camping until fall.

@RedHeadedStepChild There is an AWESOME thread about a bear getting locked inside of a new 100 or 200 somewhere on MUD. Vehicle was still spotless on the outside but insurance totaled it.

Broken water main right in front of our house, grrrrrrr. City rep came quickly this morn,maid it was an emergency. Still nothing, flowing like crazy and is now bubbling across the street too.
