The CM scalping isn't nearly the obsession around these parts that it once was, but there are still some examples in every neighborhood. Seemed like it was every tree even just 10 years ago.

My half of the neighborhood is filled with clusters of untrimmed 30+ year old azaleas. There's a solid 2 week difference in full bloom depending on which side of the street they're on. They're also slowly dying off for the past 5 years leaving some giant gaps to fill.

You could just scalp it like the injustice my neighbors all seem willing to pay extra for stop the crepe murder people!!!

Drop crotch pruning only unless you want a mess on your hands. It can be shaped still, reducing could be difficult. Lifting the skirt branching could change the appeal but won't make it grow any taller. Just don't thin the interior too much or lose than 20-30% foliage at once.

Wow. Years ago I would spend all my time in the 40's Tech section of MUD and, by-and-large, there were only "happy to help" folks there. An occasional "Use the search engine!" would pop up but that was it.

I've never really spent significant amounts of time in the 80's tech section but read a couple threads this morning just because.

Shoot me down if you feel otherwise but it sure looks like there are a significant number of a**holes polluting the water, so the speak.

I suppose the ONSC clubhouse has just been protecting me from the real world. Thanks guys.

80 series tech has always mini a mini pirate4x4 and a place for thick skin.... its fun at times but tiring if you are actually trying to get a straight answer

Pretty cool truck, thanks Jim. A few improvements in both electric and hydrogen and this will be in our futures. I doubt that internal combustion motors will go away in my life but it is inevitable.

Sadly there is going to have to be a revolution in battery technology to really make the market swing to electric and the difficulties surrounding hydrogen are daunting, at best. The only hydrogen options are to carry compressed hydrogen in a tank which already exist on a prototype scale but no major car maker wants the liability of a car becoming a bomb when hit just right. The second option is to catalyze and produce the hydrogen on demand but the by-products of these reactions are nasty for the environment and require offloading at a waste facility.

I sure hope the hydrogen revolution happens .... it really is a perfect fuel once we get the above items figured out.

70 mile range on an off-road/expo truck..... that is quite a long expedition


Not against electric vehicles at all. I think they are perfect for daily commutes and will actually consider one when we buy our next vehicle.... or gut an old Bug and make one.


But technology will have to get about 10 times better before i'd even slightly consider it in a cruiser.
