I guess a head gasket design that tends to blow is top-shelf. Ferrari should study it. My Momma's Ford Escort did the same thing.

You boys are so cute when you're offended it just makes me all warm inside.

(Notice I didn't say "piss-poor").

P.S.: Here's a million dollar idea. Someone should produce an aftermarket iron head for the DOHC Crusher engine. I know I'd buy one.

Every HG design tends to blow occasionally, and no offense taken here, but it would make me all warm and fuzzy inside if you would buy something other than an 80 series, or at least lower the tard factor.

And why would someone go to all that trouble when the new HG takes care of the problem..........?

You still don't get it. A head gasket design that frequently tends to blow is not good. That is not the same as an engine design being piss poor.

Besides that, I'm not yet convinced it is any more likely to blow a HG than any other vehicle of the era.

Somebody needs a hug!

Toyota makes a factory iron head for the DOHC 1FZ engine. It also has a carburettor and (apparently) no provisions for the EGR valve.

Man, just when the thread gets to the point where everyone kissed and made up people had to go stirring the pot again . . . .

How about everyone get in the holiday spirit and give each other a big hug?

No?
Nobody?
Bueller?

Dude.

What the heck are you doing?? Plenty of folks gave you sincere messages of sympathy/empathy, and then a few of us started poking fun at ourselves and our Cruiser obsession. I didn't see a single soul taking a pot shot at you since your previous post; did you?

Oh hell, I know that.. I'm having fun my own self. The responses have (for the most part) been making me laugh my ass off. ESPECIALLY the teddy bear picture.

Please don't hate me because I'm a smart-mouthed sacrastic SOB. Hate me because I still drive a Cummins. And a 91 Lexus 400.

The 4Runner is dead.

BTW: Have you picked up that US 88-92 Cruisers all have the same motor, even though the 88-90's have the 60-series bodies while the 91-92's are 80 series?
