Congrats! Looking good, my next step is to get larger tires. I think there's around 3” of clearance between the tire and mudflap / sidestep

Exactly! I will go with BFG all terrain tire with 285-65-18 and TE37 wheels.

Cool post pics when you do the swap, I'm also thinking of the BFG AT 285/70 R17

There seems to be a metallic knocking sound coming from my rear suspension.
Happens on rough roads or when the rear end compresses. Like when your back tires come down from a speed hump.

Does anyone know what it might be or has had a similar experience.

Where can you order the TE 37?

I had the same metallic noise in the rear. My OME rear shocks had paint on the top threads which kept them from getting the necessary compression. i had to remove them, remove the pain overspray, and make sure to put a lot of torque on them when re-installed. Space is limited at the top, so applying a lot of torque is difficult.

I think what you hear is the top washers hitting the frame.

Hello! here is the picture of the wheel i installed! Enjoy!:)

I like the wheels HDJ100L, do they have the same offset and width as stock?

Desert Nomad, who did you have install yours? Had they done an OME lift before? I used Icon Auto in Dubai when I had a Defender, and will probably make the drive from Saudi to have them do the work on my LC (once I decide between the GXR Diesel 200 or a 76 series.

I had it done initially at robbies-ms but was given the wrong set of springs so drove up to Abu Dhabi to have them change the springs. I'm sure icon will do a good job just make sure you do your research in which springs you want or call ARB abudhabi and see what they recommend. Lately I've been hearing a metallic sound when the suspension compresses and Nospell posted to check if there's paint overpay on the thread of the shocks. When I have time I'm going to check it out.

Unfortunately, they do not have the same size spec of the stock wheels. I believe that there is no reason to produce or mfg an after market wheel with the same stock. What i had installed is 18x9.5 +55 offset while the original 18 is x 8 and with +60 offset. Close enough...maybe you can consider.

Finally! After long research what spring and shocks will be install. I decided to go with:

Spring
OME 700 front
OME 721 rear

nitrocharger shocks only.

Some of my friends said that using the SPORTS shocks will give a firm ride as the non sport has soft valving.

I will feel and see the height and ride.

I measured the stock height and here are the result

Front Left 28.25" Right 28.75"
Rear Left 31.5" Right 31.75"

all the measurement are from bottom of the original 17" wheel to the lip of the fender.

Dersert Nomad, Please post the picture after you install the 721 and please measure it as well. TIA!

how does it ride compared to stock does it wallow at high speed? have you tried the nitrocharger sport vs classic?

OME 703 Front Springs
OME 90005 Front Struts
OME 722 Rear Springs
OME 60029 Rear Shocks

What is the difference between these and the 700s and 721s and 723s some of you are running? Ive got 275/75/18s.

hello
I went to ARB and they advised me to go for the normal shock absorber.
I saw you have the sport ones. How is the ride compare to original ?

Thanks

Nothing beats the plush ride of the OE suspension! This is given for every land cruiser.

after i replaced the shocks and spring to OME not the sport shocks. It became stiffer ride. I chose the no weight/stock spring rate. Since i do not have plans to put
bumper etc.

overall, I like the ride and happy with it.:D

Thanks HDJ100L.
Did you try offroad ?
Desert Nomad do you have the same comments ?

thanks

My setup has the sport shocks I haven't felt the normal OME so I don't know the difference between them and the sport only that they say it's stiffer and more heavy duty. Biggest difference with the setup I felt is its more stiffer than factory shocks/springs and much less body roll so it's more stable on the highway and off-road. If you'd like you can have a look at mine and I can let you get a feel of the suspensionif it's too harsh or not so you could decide on the normal vs sport shocks.

*Make sure part numbers are correct, Dubai branch recommended wrong set of rear springs and in the end drove down to AD to get them swapped for correct ones. ARB have their own workshop in Abu Dhabi in Dubai they'll recommend an independent garage to fit. Work was much cleaner and hassle free in AD for me.

Oh thanks a lot.
Yeah of course I would like to feel how harsh it is.
When are you available ?

Did you test it ? what are the finding :)

yeah I tested it . Thanks to DesertNomad.
Much less body roll (acceleration / breaking and turn)
Stiffer but still confortable
