just got my ome springs on my cruiser i just swapped springs and nothing else at this time. im running 33x12.50 cooper sst tires and my problem is when i reach about 30 miles an hour im getting a bad vibration out of the drivers side front end. i think that my problem might be that i have the passenger swaybar hooked up and the drivers is off. i need to make extensions for it and ill probably investigate the problem sometime this week better. but i was just wondering if there was something that i wasnt thinking about that you guys might be able to help me out with thanks!!
on a side note would you guys put the ome shackels and greasible springpins on do they help a ton out or are the stocks acceptable.

you must be really good to be able to pinpoint your problem as to drivers side or passenger side...

have you checked your caster? what about the angle on your front driveshaft? have you recently rebuilt the front end?

bk

no never rebuilt the front end, but need to its getten bad. my caster angle havent checked it how do you check it without an allignment machine. havent looked at the drive shaft, ill look at it to see if it is getting itself into a bind.
just thought mabie i have a bent weel or a weel that is out of ballance but that would make it vibrate all of the time not just when im going about 30. and another thing when i hit the brakes it seems to quit the vibration. thanks for your reply!!

Jack your front end up. Grab the top adn bottom of the wheel and see if you can move it by pulling on the top and pushing on the bottom and then push on the bottom and pull on the top.

You knuckle studs could be loose and the bearings inside worn or shot.

What he said and check the balance of the wheel. if its out of balance it will wear out the front end quick.

did you replace the spring bushings too? I replaced the bearings all around on my front axle, but I don't see swapping springs to indicate an issue with the axle assembly. Did it vibrate like this before?

Retorque your u-bolts to spec.

I had the same problem. I wasn't able to pinpoint exactly where the vibration was coming from though. I retouqued the bolts and still the vibrations. Seems to me like it happened between 25-30 mph. Ended up drive shaft was out of balance. Drive shaft came apart during install and I wasn't able to get it lined back up properly. Cost me 45 bucks to take it to a shop and have them balance, clean and paint it and vibrations are gone. I have also heard people say to make sure you check the play in your u joints as well. Good luck.

Somebody on the board recently said that he cured "death wobble" with new bushings. Were you original bushings used as a replacement?

well srry ive been busy with a massive coolant leak on the old fj60. but yes i ran the same bushings that were in the shackle eye but the spring eyes i used the bushings that i got with the kit now that you mention it they wernt as tight around the bolt as they could of been. i torqued my u bolts to 90 pounds wasnt really sure on the torque spec, but thats what my scout torque value is. thought it could be close enoughf. and i did tighten them with the weight of the vehicle on it. and when it was up in the air. the truck didnt even have the slightest vibration at all in the front end before the lift but another factor that you all might like to kno is it pulled a little right with no lift and now it pulls pretty hard to the right. and the guy that i bought the tires from said that they needed to be balanced after i talked to him today.

just got the weels balanced on the 60 and it seems like it has cleared up pretty well im going to take the swaybar off later today and see what happens
