OME CC Bushing installation question

I made a jig by assembling some 1/2" copper tubing and elbows into a 'C' shape, with the ends of the 'C' in the stock bushings in the arms, then soldered it together. Labeled it and threw it in a drawer for the next guy who comes over needing this job done (been used 3 times now :D). The copper fits snugly in the bushing bolt holes.

I doubt it's about the $10, it's probably more the challenge and fun of figuring out a way to do it yourself. Besides, my jig cost about $2 and 10 minutes. :D

the cardboard press templates I've have for aligning these things.

I guess that I missed the part where you are charging for them.:o

the big thing is getting both sides pressed in the same. That's what is going to maximize the caster change and keep the axle square to the frame.

Agreed.

I can see where a template would have value for someone trying to figure it out for the first time, but once you have done a couple, it’s a simple job. I will bet that I can do them just as accurately and as fast or faster, using the mark, remove, compare and press method, VS messing with a template.

is this a dig? I mean it's a 1.00 just to mail the stupid things, never mind getting them cut and the envelopes to put them in.

For most guys it's a 1 shot deal or they are having a shop do it who is doing it the first time. Either way the job gets done correctly the first try.
