Olive tree spraying to eliminate fruit

Who do you have spray your Olive tree to eliminate it from bearing fruit this time of the years? The guy we normally use is out of business. Is spraying something you can Do-It-Yourself?

Phil, we just faxed in our order yesterday with Turner Tree Management. Weve used them with great success for the last ten years on the big olive tree in my front yard. They charge us between $50 -$60. I recommend them: Ph. 602-254-4414

Product called "olive stop" contact Western Organics ( Or they may go by the name Grow Well now).

If you have any problems, I can turn you on to someone...

After I posted the thread I called a few Arborist and none of them will spray it now because the blooms have started. One company would do it but it would be a multiple step process. They would spray to kill the bloom and come back and spray again repeating a total of three times and yes charging me 3 times:mad:

Now I'm totally confused and thinking about buying a spray rig and advertising for next year:popcorn:

Round Up will work wonders for this problem Phil.

Drive a single copper nail into the trunk. It will cease to bloom and never do so again.

I Called and I'm on the schedule...no guarantee though:meh:
Talked with distributor about MAINTAIN CE.125 that Turner uses along with many others. MAINTAIN CE.125 is a retardant and will not get 100% this late in the season but it will be better then not dong anything.:censor:

Turner will be spraying your Olive tree on Monday right after mine:flipoff2:

Thanks Murf for the helpful response

Thanks John Where can I buy this stuff? I like what I read but in a prefect environment it needs to be applied earlier in the cycle and reapplied once later. The nice thing about Olive stop is just that it stops the olive where MAINTAIN CE.125 is an Olive retardant.

HINT:John a spray rig will look good behind your 40 and I know where you can get your first customers at.

LOL, Got the spray rig, have to ask Genell if she can spare me on weekends in the spring.;) (Check the chat section)..

Probably too late to do anything this year, but might be able to hook you up with material next year (all the suppliers I deal with are wholesale). Yep, olive stop works well if applied 2 to 3 times during the blooming period, but timing is critical.
Maintain (remember that phrase from HS.:D), works much better with just one app., but has a tendency to stunt any new growth at the same time. Not too noticable, but may have some funky little leaves for a while.

Olive stop applied from a good quality hose-end sprayer and timing might help in your case.

Think the old olives are cool and tough as nails, maybe Phil's Hummer neighbor has a severe alergic reaction?:hhmm:

Be that as it may..I've got a Stihl Ts101 prunning saw and a couple of 20" bar Huskies if your desperate.;)

This thread confuses me. First you don't want olives, then you want retarded olives instead of regular ones. Probably not PC either. Is there a difference in taste?
MAINTAIN CE.125 is a Olive retardant
