I have been messing around Thinking about giving our 45LWB an Old School Look the motor thats in it is a 74 I have a few valve covers laying around so I cut the oil filler out of the top of a later model cover and getting ready to install it in this early Valve Cover  So what do you all think set the filler to the side ? or in the back on top. Yes I have a set of extended studs to replace the ones in the head now had to make them a 1/2'' longer.

way to go! I did the same thing on a 72'.

I'm glad someone picked up on this.
the older cover is the cats **s. much better construction.

got mine on center. but I like where you're headed.

BTW I cut the oil filler neck off an old block to do mine. so I could use the old school cap.

I was thinking of doing this as well, then cruiser_nerd suggested welding a filler tub to the side panel/cover instead...of which I see you have one in the back ground...this would have also looked way slick :D

Unfortunately no time to do it yet :frown:

BTW...I like it up top, front and center

If you can find a way to stop those steel valve covers from leaking you will really be onto something. ;)

Hey Rob...if you have an extra F-135 fill tube, and an extra side cover for a 1972 F-155, then let me know if you test weld one of these babies up...still don't have my F-135 for my '64

Edit: Just make sure you place it so that I can bolt the thing on, and still be able to change my plugs with out the filler being in the way

:hhmm: I do have a couple of those laying around Maybe this weekend I will try mocking up something like that. Thanks for the input and ideas

x3 if you really HAVE to have a filler.

LandCruiserJunky just pours his oil SLOWLY thru the vent tube in his F135 valve cover to top off the 2F. It's not like you need to have access to it all that often.

It just re-emphasizes the point that those 73-74 valve covers are WORTHLESS!

BTW, Art Schramm says HI!

Best
