I decided to take my wife for a ride on Sunday for lunch and call in and see the 45 up close. I have quite a few projects on my plate and need another like I need a hole in my head. I can't just let it sit there and rust away can I guys. His naighbour told me he has four cruisers sitting on his farm so I we see what he's got and wether any of them are for sale. If not I will take a few more photo's for ih8mud members.
Wish me luck

Yeah that's an early 60s model, don;t see many of them around.

I was hoping when I found it that it could be my vintage being a 1959 model. I didn't get chance to get their last weekend but I'm keen to lift the hood and check out the compliance plate. The wheel base looks very short to me in the photo's. I had a wide load on the truck with bugger all room to park so I just pulled up and snapped a few photo's before driving off but it looked good rust wise. There's heaps off 45's in coffs with most farms running them in the hilly banana plantations but this is the oldest I have found.

Sorry Ozercruiser, it not a 1959,that be a 1961-1964 FJ45. 1959 be a FJ25 and that has the later cab,
But if you find a FJ25 or FJ28 i am after a few bits to finish mine.
I agree its to good to let rust away.

:)

does it have toyota in the grill?

no toyota in grill then it will have a stamped bezel... or... used to have a stamped bezel... making it 61-63

Toyota in grill will make it AFAIK late 63-64

i would say more like 64 .... 61-most 63 had the stamped bezel

since it looks like the bezel on the front is upside down... it was either replaced (there is another on the hood/Bonnet) or never came with one... never had it makes it a 64

if :) there is no toyota in grill and they took off the original stamped bezel ....and put on another but orintated it wrong... even though they knew it went thick side up because of the writting on the one just taken off... but... still put it on wrong ... you should offer half what ever he says its worth

Apparently this guy has 4 sitting on his farm so I will try and find out what else he has lying around. Hopefully he has a 25 rusting away for whatever parts you're chasing.
Thanks for all the help guys trying to work out the year. Not sure if I'm interested in this old girl or not but I will check it out in case someone else is.

Ozcruiser

If you do get back, have a look at the chassis number, RH rail 100mm from frount. that will give you an idiea of the age if the tags are gone.
Hope he has a 25 rusting away.

Looks like a 63/4. Not too many of them around.

There are some challenges with that model. The rear window rubber is non-existent. If yours is bad there's not much to be done about it. The cab is 75mm shorter than the later removable hard tops which are not all that comfortable themselves. at 6' I wouldn't be able to drive mine if it still had a clutch.

Sliding glass windscreen looks like its from a bus side window.

I went to the trouble of closing the drivers door before leaving to keep the rain out for a few more years.

The engine bay looks the worst with rust on the whole truck and the left chassis rail looks bent.

The compliance plate was unreadable I left my reading glasses at home. The truck looks very good rust wise with a few holes in the roof and the bonnet seam underneath is rusty as well. The tennant was there and he said it could be for sale if anyone is interested. I'm over 6ft and this truck is way to small plus the wife said if I bring this home my 1978 45 has to go.

This old 45 needs a good home for a complete rebuild and I have to many projects going now to take it on. I'm not after any money so if anyone wants this I will do my best to help you contact the owner. I can assist with pick up on a tilt tray and onfoward on a car carrier if needed at your cost.

Thanks for putting that up. It looks to good to let sit there rusting away.
I have 3 already fj25 hj47 and hzj75 and no more shed room.
Did you find the other 3 you said was laying on the farm?

The guy I spoke to was renting the house and didn't know what was on the rest of the property. What parts are you after for the 25 because I do come across heaps of dead landcruisers on properties.
