While inspecting slave cylinder, found this gem.
Assuming from the gas tank, supposed to vent into a non-existent charcoal canister?
Any ideas are appreciated. Needed?

Is that the return fuel line? I think the charcoal cannister and vent lines are on the driver side... but ????? The original 6 had a supply and return/vent to/from the carb/tank. It's the return/vent but not to the cannister... originally went to the carb from tank (or vice versa).. Or on my 77 that's what it would be..

@MacDaddyRabbit I don’t think it’s the return line, its not connected to the fuel pump.
Looks like it routes back along the frame towards the fuel tank, then above the tank and over to the other lines exiting the drivers side rear quarter panel.

Thanks for the reply and compliment!

I don't believe the return line returned thru the fuel pump...wet from the carb back to the tank.. Didn't look today but fairly certain the return line runs parallel w the supply line, but not thru the pump.. Am I incorrect on that?

All 3 lines coming from the fuel pump are accounted for and connected. One to the carb and two others connected and headed back to the fuel tank?

Have to ask: Iowa mention and username, you in MN?

I looked at my cannister line the other day and forgot to post.. I am fairly certain that you are correct... My cannister line runs along the top of the firewall with the hard brake/clutch lines and connects to the line adjacent to the clutch slave with a soft line... if that helps..

Thanks @MacDaddyRabbit
Recent 79 on BAT also confirmed.
Appreciate you double-checking!

Some minor updates.
Wiring challenges resolved, now labeled and tucked away nicely.
Pulled tranny cover, added sound deadener and cleaned up a bit, then fluid filmed and reconnected..the unconnected wires.
Used cutout for radio to house a couple USB/USB C ports on a live edge piece of walnut 😉
Added LEDs to side marker and front lights, but not turn signal. Didn’t want to mess with an LED flasher.
Added small LEDs as DRL/Fog’ish lights. For the pic they are set on low.
New starter.

Been slow going for a couple weeks.
Changed transfer case fluid.
Put on some fog lights.
Built a LED light holder/jacket hook for the rear cargo area.
Light is held in place with some magnets.
Works well and just the right size to cover some speaker drill holes 😉
Little bolt cover up and it will be good to go.
Up next some tie rods, rebuilding the birfields and parking brake.

Installed tie rod ends today. Thanks @cruiseroutfit
Bit of a challenge getting them off the truck, then even more to get the passenger side off the rod.
A bit of heat, a vise and a pipe wrench did the trick.
Lubed up and a test drive to check it all out. Nice and tight.
Old vs New
