Yes, all the bolts are off including the flywheel side cover. I already have i good portion of the seal broken. It is still stuck like a mother. I guess I'll just have to keep working at it or decide to destroy it and move on.

My 78' 40 oil pan was like yours.Took me 2 days to get it off.Just keep at it.

i used a BFH took a couple good swings after i tried to tap it off then it broke free.

the pans are a lot stronger than one would think.

x2 on douple checking bolts i left 2 on and i swore i had em all off but then after looking for the 4th time i seen em hiding right in plain view. the 2 bolts held it on as if all were still there it wouldnt even wiggle.

Buttoning this one up....
Just got it off.....had to be original. I just kept moving down the portion of the seal I had broken with stubby flat-heads and various other tools finally got that entire side broken loose just over the front drive shaft (by the way, manual says to remove front drive shaft- I did not) and was able to yank it off after that. Thanks for the responses especially to the gentleman that said just keep at it, she'll come off. Love this site by the way.

I'm a little late to the party. First time I used a putty knife and hammer. Straightened out the pan flange on an anvil. 5 hr job and it was on a lift.
The second time, I used a big, old kitchen knife and a hammer. 2.5 hr job in the driveway. It was just as stuck, I just knew what to expect.
I just can't keep it from leaking in the corners where the block meets the bearing caps. Yes, I used sealant. Just, maybe not the best stuff.
Park it nose down in the driveway, it won't mark its territory.
