How much of the bottom end can be seen after removing the oil pan/pans? How much of the bearings and rods can be seen? Thanks. 1FZ FE

I did a head gasket change with the motor in. The front timing cover had to be off and the oil pan needs to be dropped to do this. I unbolted the motor mounts and lifted the motor by the pulley a couple inches for the pan to clear the frame cross-member. It is possible.
I replaced the timing chain, tensioner and front seal while I had the head off.Why would you need to pull the oil pans to do a head gasket job ? Also, the timing cover does not need to be removed unless you are decking the block.
If you pull the pans, you will have the oil pickup tube in the way, but that comes off with a couple nuts. Otherwise it is like any other engine with open access.
You can take off a main cap to see one of the crank bearings. pull #5, or #6, furthest from the oil pump.
