Yep i have oil leaks everywhere. My oil pan is leaking. My tcase is leaking into the tmission. Looks like motor oil is also getting into the transmission. And the front seal on the transmission behing the drive shaft is leaking!!!

However i think i have made a discovery for the better. I brought home a couple of fittings to look about my homemade transmission to tcase hose bypass. Brought home a 3/8ths npt elbow and 3/8ths barbed plug. It was a little big for the plug but as i looked at it i noticed "man it's awful close" ! Sure enough it threaded right in!! May try it out before we shoot saturday so i can see if it works. This could be a fairly big find seeing as how everyone else who makes them home made taps there plugs!!

Motr oil leaking into the tranny would be a first for me. Hopefully the bypass hose takes care of most of that. I would go ahead and order a transfer case output seal, or if you have the time rebuild the whole thing.

Also go ahead and get you a new oil pan gasket. They are pretty cheap from RHT, and it only takes a few hours to replace. You might still have a rear main leak after all that, but this could clear up 90% of the bleeding.

Won't have engine oil in tranny but leaky rear main or freeze plus is very common

I got my oil pan gasket from cruiser corps for 10 bucks....only took a couple hours to switch out.....take some pics of this hose you're making.

If you or he has oil leaking from the freeze plug then you have MAJOR problems.

Jeremy

Its quite common for the plug in the side of your head above the dizzy to leak but I wouldnt call it major. While it does dumb oil fast it's an easy fix

That's not a freeze plug, its an oil galley plug. Freeze plugs go in the coolant passages, not the oil passages. If oil is coming from a freeze plug, then you have a severely blown headgasket.

Search my started threads I did I write up on a DIY transfer kit

gonna fix front output seal behind front driveshaft next week. Have to get oil pan gasket seal. Already fixed galley plug. Will take pics of hose set up next week also.

may not be motor oil in tranny but sure is black as @#$%

Ok I need better pics than that.....what and where did you get your parts from.....did you have to drill and tap your plugs?

3/8ths npt 90" fitting. 3/8ths barb. Not completely sure what the hose is made from. I got all this stuff from where i work. I did not have to tap anything at all. Why u need one??

One another note whent out there the next day and oil was leaking pretty vigorously out of the front ouput seal from the tcase. I had this seal already to replace but seem to have lost it. Will try to tackle it next week as i have already done the rear.

looks like i killed my jack today. Called rht and for a little over $100 they will fix front tcase seal. Probably gonna go that route. Besides i am sure they could use a good laugh.
