I had a stubborn one on an old Ford that none of the friction wrenches worked on and I do not have a socket style large enough so I had to use the screw driver through the can trick. I have had to do that a few times over the years. :meh:

I use a piece of 3/4 square tube with a length of seat belt fixed both ends to tube. slide loop of seat belt over filter put spanner (wrench ) on tube and turn to tighten or loosen. tube length to suit your engine bay.
