Interesting. What about the oil filter, wouldn't it still be collecting residue all that time and not be able to filter appropriately?

it does look like depending on how much you drive to replace the filter every 60,000 Km, still an interesting idea

No harm in dropping the oil in a bucket, swapping filter, and doing the dialysis back into the engine from there, saves the oil. Even if you did this every 10k miles, no disposal or cost of oil is huge. The actual completion of the job is no biggie, w/ the Fumoto it's not a long or messy process as it is.

Will be interested to see how this works out over time, for now I'll be proceeding as normal :)

That is probably the safest plan. You would definitely save on oil/disposal. Certainly something to consider!

I'm pretty sceptical of this. It's one thing to filter the oil separate of the motor's lubrication system. Like Amsoil Bypass that's been around for a while, and yea, it sure makes the oil last longer. Plus with that system you add a couple quarts of oil to the capacity.

But the longevity they are talking about seems a little questionable. How are they maintaining the additive package? Someone will need to take a risk with their motor and do some serious UAOs to see how the oil is doing.

Interesting, but just another gadget looking for a non-problem to solve. I rather spend my money directly in a fresh oil/filter change than this gadget.

Agree with @Taco2Cruiser , my first thought is how about the additive package of detergent, anti-oxidants, and anti-wear agents. Certainly the filtering that robinOne does for dust and contaminants will filter out the good additives too.

I don't see how that little tube is gonna suck up all the oil in the engine, seems like there will be too much left in the pan. And I would be nervous about not swapping the filter, and if I'm changing the filter, it's not much extra work to dump the pan.

Snake Oil.....literally.
A Blackstone Analysis has shown that the additive (lubricant) properties of the oil break down over time.
Is this unit adding back in additives?

Also oil is used to carry harmful byproducts of combustion away. In this way it is a cleaner.
The black in oil is the carbon from Combustion which is abrasive and corrosive (not like Graphite)
Does this unit remove the carbon and metal that cause wear?

If you really want to extend your oil, get a Blackstone Oil Analysis ($30), but like a whole body scan be prepared for when other things show up.

It would be interesting to see the pre and post appearance and oil analysis...

I have a natural gas vehicle which keeps the oil much cleaner than a gas burning car. The oil will still look very clear but they still insist that you must change the oil at the normal time due the burn off of additives in the oil. The idea sounds good, but i have serious doubts

I ran the Amsoil bypass system on my Tundra. It's the best thing out there for keeping the soot out of the oil. Keeps the oil really clean. But you still need to change the oil regularly because of the additives that are absolutely required for modern engines. Especially with the crap gas we have to buy now days.

With good synthetic oil, and the bypass system with regular changes of oil and filters (the bypass every other time), you will be doing the best maintenance you can for your engine. Hell, even with standard oil and filter changes at the dealership a Toyota engine will probably last longer than most people will want to keep driving it anyway. So just a little extra attention will payback well.

I had this same concern. It would seem that in order for this to work thoroughly, the oil should be extracted from the lowest point in the system.
