"has been modified to go into 2wd" .... so the center caps are hiding locking hubs or the front DS shaft is gone and the center diff has to stay locked.

That 80 has been around for a bit, it's about the best shape you are going to find these days. Every so often a pristine one pops up but they are rare. If you figure in maybe another $2K for base lining you should have yourself a very nice rig. Seems like much of the common stuff has already been handled.

THe 80 Rice showed also would be worth taking a look at.

I'd love to trade my Suburban for an 80.... Anyone want to swap theirs for mine? It's a 2003 Z71 with only 125k miles.... I'll even throw in a copy of Bob Seager's "Like a rock" for free... After driving it for a bit that song just plays on repeat in your head... ;)

Want to sell just the motor?

Rice and all - I tried to call and sent an email on the 97 in Wilmington to get pics of interior and to make sure it has F/R lockers. Thanks for passing that one along. Love that color/year!

My 2004 4Runner is pretty much up for sale, btw:

2004 SR5 4Runner w/ 4.7L V8; 130K miles, 2.5" OME lift, Dual Battery System, ARB front bumper, Baja Rack, ARB Air Compressor (no lockers). Aluminum skid plates under engine/transfer. High-end Kenwood sound system with the nice Toyota premium sound and Garmin built in. New'ish (<5K) Duratrec tires. Premium leather interior in perfect shape w/ Okolee front seat covers. Waterpump/timing and diff fluid done around 95K, transmission and transfer case fluid done at dealer around 125K. $14.5K

I'm all stocked up with things that need work... Thanks tho! :)

I'll tell you something about an 80. I bought Heather's 95 for $750, with lockers and a supposed blown motor. Sold the bumper for $250. Heather got a new radiator on warranty from NAPA and it was running, still is. I checked the fluids, built a bumper and sliders, new brakes and E-brake added a 2" lift. 18 months later we drive it all the time. WE CANT KILL IT!!! Really, I change the oil and keep up with fluids. THis truck is a tank, plain and simple.
