Any jeep folks out there. Just contacted by a family friend that they want to sell a 1985 jeep - dark green. Stock. Only 59k miles. Working on a price and pictures. Only mod is 6000 lb superwinch. Comes with soft top, bikini Top and hard top.

I might have someone interested.

^^ My 13-yr-old daughter is interested - she is obsessed with these for months now. . . . I told her that if she brought a Jeep home it wouldn't sit in our driveway and I wouldn't help with insurance on it LOL.

She loves the stock dark green ones with tan tops - ugliest things I have ever seen :)

I have fond memories of a 78 CJ7 I put together when I lived in the Keys. Loved that rig :)

Stay strong on that course....I caved and got my oldest daughter a Volvo V70 station wagon that she obsessed over when it didn't make sense for her to continue driving the 62 due to distance for college....that lasted about 6 months before it was traded for a Subaru Forrester (which i recommended the first go around) which she grew fond of after putting over 50k miles on it in just over 2 years!

1994 Jeep

5 speed
4 cylinder
Dark Green
Soft Top

Have two V70's right now. Always a work in progress on the older one.
My '98 went 331,000 before it burnt two valves. Moved up and got a '99. Gas, oil and timing belt so far.
The Subaru is also a good on.

Yeah, this was a late 90's model if i remember correctly. Definitely respect the V for it's safety but it left her stranded a couple times and we lost all confidence in her taking it on a West Coast road trip she was planning so it got the boot....the Forrester was a 2011 with 90k and ran like a champ save for changing out a battery in Monterrey, CA....she put 14k miles on it in 90 days! Youngest daughter now driving it with 144k on the odo......

Please PM on Jeep if really interested. Getting pictures now. Have two other friends interested as well.

Having a hard time with a value. the NADA shows 6,500 to 10,000. Any thoughts on where to look, just want a fair price for this guys mom.

I guess that is a loaded question. Is there repair history? Has it been sitting for a while? Paint, trim, body in good shape? Etc.

Pics - 1994 model, not a 1985. Second owner that bought it from the original owner and has owned since 1998.

that's super nice. I doubt a matching spare 31" will fit in that rear tire holder - not sure what stock tire dimensions are - but based on those rear wheel wells and how close those KM2s are riding, I'd say it's less than 31".

Those appear to be 33x10.5

So yea, the stock location wouldn't fit a tire that size.

IIRC David Miller @FJinTegaCay had a 33x10.5 spare in his LV. Not sure how he did it. Maybe he modified the bracket.

'94 YJ (Yuppy Jeep) Too bad it's not an '85 CJ7. You had my hopes up.

The 6 cylinder is obviously the preferred powerplant but I will say that I have a buddy who has one of these, a '95 with the little 2.5 4-cylinder. He bought it new. It has 150K on it now. It still looks and drives like new. I think he did have to rebuild the 5 speed gearbox at around 120K. As long as you don't go up much in tire size the 4 bangers hold up surprisingly well. It will probably make someone a neat little vehicle. Shame about those square headlights though. '87-'95...the ugly years. I'd lean more toward the $6500 asking price if I were the seller. This is the least desirable of all the Wrangler models and with a 4 cylinder. Low miles and great condition will only get you so far on a vehicle nobody wants to buy.

Thanks @jamesurq ...Coolcruisers and SOR don't have them in stock and says they're discontinued.
With SOR that's not always absolute. I've gotten discontinued from them in the past

It is a nice LV. I'm surprised it hasn't met reserve. It is already a good bit more than what rumor says it last sold for.

I was able to fit a 33x10.5 in my LV, but only just barely.

No modifications needed but I don't think you could slip a piece of paper between the tire and tailgate when it's closed.
