Asked Joe about selling it and he didn't act interested. The last time I was there they had two 45's in the back lot as well.

I believe it is still there.

Mine was a Nice Price or Crack Pipe a few years back when the PO was selling it. I believe 67% said crack pipe (at $22k - I paid a lot less).

Would anyone happen to know anyone that is selling a Diesel engine that would be a good match for my FJ60?
Al nailed it and Johnny is also the resident expert. I like the video Jamie posted as the OM617 is one of my favorite engines, I would almost want to buy a donor rig just for the engine. I bought a 4BT but was quickly scared off by the vibration and the fact the vast majority of diesel swaps for sell are the 4BT. Great engine, but know what's in store for you. I ended up getting a 4BD2T and a NV4500 tranny, adapters are next on the collection list. Check out 4BTswaps.com, great resource in addition to Mud. Good luck.

I was at the Mercedes museum last summer. The OM617 is the only engine that had a cut-away display, what does that tell you about how Mercedes feels about their "million mile diesel"?

Very cool! ^^

while underpowered at first at least for anything 60 series size a 617 can easily be rectified in power. You will just need to brush up on your Swedish. Lol

A custom myna pump coupled with a bigger turbo, injectors and IC can make those 3.0s into 3.Go's

Their stock torque curve is quite different from a passenger truck or industrial engine.

my personal choice when it comes a Mercedes swap would be a 606 engine with a 603 turbo manifold, big turbo and a custom tweaked myna 603 pump.

if you want to know.more than you ever wanted to know about the 617 engine talk to Jason Traylor... Whose mud name is not coming to me for some reason. I'll look it up.

Is the 606 what is in the Sprinters? They have 5's too, I think.

no the 606 came in the mid 90s 300D

the sprinters got a whole host of I4s, I5s and the newest have V6s

All this Mercedes talk is making me miss my 300SDL not a rocket ship bit that 603 made do. It was actually pretty fast considering I got 29-30 mpg in a car that was as long as my suburban. A sprinter 6 speed swap was I. The plans when I had to sell the trans and car to pay for some medical bills for the wifey.... Such is life.

I know one of the v6s in the sprinter is the OM642, same as what they had in the 2007-2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel

Wanted - stock 17" wheels for a 4Runner or Tacoma. Don't care which model wheel, and cheap is good.

Thanks

It seems like the best diesels for every company were all produced in the early to mid-90s. All mechanical, usually re-sleevable, all before the heinous EPA over-regulations.

I ask what he was going to do with it and he said probably just put it on eBay. That means it's for sake. Hope someone local grabs it.

If anybody is looking for a nice older low miles metric cruiser, My Dad has his '98 Honda Ace Tourer 1100 up for sale. 9252 miles and asking $4500

Anyone have any sun visors for a 40? I can't see spending $90 a piece for them.

I can buy a lot of large brimmed hats for $180.... :)
