Hey I'd be game for that 77 :)
I found a 1977 and a 1974 NC License plates for sale and bought them for $8 each. Glad to resale for that amount to anyone who needs them.

@kulangot is helping me find a mountain bike, so just thought I'd ask if anyone here is looking to unload anything? I'm going to need about a 21" frame, and am hoping to keep things in the $400 and under range for something used. Whatcha got?

Well, I was going to sell my old 21" stump jumper with xtr and xt components but just bought a trainer 2 days ago so I could stick it up in the bonus room.

Nice plates! Jason, "AS-man" .... complete with backfire.

Thanks Jamie!!!!

they are yours, let me know when and how you are going to get them

There are preliminary plans for a trip to Charlotte this Wednesday to pick up some storage shelves .... maybe can make it happen then.

Thanks.

LOL - such a great episode!

Wife and I were in this little antique store in Pittsboro yesterday and they had these two plates - no others.

Had no idea who would need or not, but I thought $8 seemed reasonable and assumed it would take a while to get rid of them. I have about 40 plates from different states, so thought, worst case, I would just add them to the collection.

But to think, Jason will be the As-man now . . . priceless.

Of course, I wanted to post up the plates to make sure they looked OK and would work - - I would hate for either one of you to be in New York, driving around and be heckled - - so no worries if these numbers are wrong for your needs :)

If there is anyway to get them to my office on Morehead St., I can hold them for you.

So you looking at Wednesday?

Things look promising for both Jason and I to be able to come down after work.

@lt1fire , I don't know the first thing about charlotte .... where are items relative to Morehead St?

Ramon, how tall are you and what type of riding are you planning to do? The reason I ask is because I am 6'2" and prefer a 20" (or 19") over the recommended size of 21". I ride a single speed rigid 29" and although people call me crazy, it's what I prefer. Bike sizing can be tricky. It is easy to tweak reach and seat position but if the frame is the wrong size, you are SOL and no amount of tweaking will make it right. Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the reply Jonathan. I rode a few bikes today at Performance and REI and wound up blowing the budget on a Scott Scale 960 (great deal on a '15 closeout), frame size XL. I used to ride BMX and freestyle bikes as a kid, and then some street cycling in high school, but am ashamed to say nothing since. Lot's to learn, but I rode about 8 miles today and finally remembered one form of individual exercise I actually enjoy. I'm going to warm up on the greenways and similar trails this spring / summer and will shoot for some single track stuff this fall, if not sooner.

I should do the same, I was all into Dyno, Hutch, and Redline back in the day! Rad was THE movie!

I remember seeing Mike Dominguez and Wood Itson (Hutch team) in the parking lot of the local Schwinn dealer around 1985. They had 2 small quarter pipes and it was the BOMB! Have you seen prices for those old bikes lately? Haro, too. The Master was my dream. I'll get one someday to hang on the wall between the guitars I actually DID buy at the right time!

Huh. I used to drool over Redlines and Haros. The Kuwahara Nova was my dream bike back in 1983... I was financially challenged though, so I got some heavy garbage bike that I rocked till it's wheels fell off.
