Been making me want an LX570 since 2000 always

You have any issues carrying the Gazelle tent on your roof? Is that bag weatherproof? I have the same tent, if I can carry it on the roof that makes a lot more sense...

I don't think the bag is water proof. I have not carried it through heavy rains, just some light rain and I pack it with the floor facing forward when folded and stored in the bag. It hasn't created any issues so far and I just logged 1400 miles with it over interstate and very rough terrain.

Just got back Saturday from a week at Moab. I have a lot of pics and video but here are some from on the way up and down from Top of the World. We did the whole loop at the top but did have to stack some rocks. Phew! It was long and tough. There were times we had to spot for something like 200 meters of rock ledges at a time.

Love seeing a relatively stock (particularly un-bumpered given weight and cost compromises) 200 on these trails!

Overland LX570 Gets a Winch

Yes, even I have succumbed to boyhood dreams. Never thought I'd go so far as to install a winch. Especially as I'm a stickler for weight. Getting deep into this hobby hanging around you all and somehow I've justified this in my mind. Key build priorities - weight - maintain stock-ish looks...

Went on a really nice trip to the Netherlands with a small Overland Bound group. We visited Volkel airbase, followed some of the movement routes of Operation Market Garden and saw one of the drop zones. It was great trip with the family and while I was there, one of the guys that lived in NL helped me modify a set of TJM side bars to fit the LX. I have the scrub bars as well and plan to get that all installed shortly.

Went from stock 20s to 18s. LC wheels on the cheap is the way to go! 305/65 Cooper Discoverer XLT AT3. Slightly taller than the 305/65's, rubs some on full lock so will address, not horrible though. Lexus center caps complete it. 470 is for sale FYI.

So I've done Hell's Revenge a few times but never Hell's Gate. I was about to drive past it since I didn't have a spotter in my group that was comfortable spotting when I ran into the guy in the pic, none other than @Aint Misbehavin. He said he would spot me and here I am.

Got a video but it's long. I'll have to put it to youtube and link it here. Got near the top when a heater tee blew and I lost my coolant .

I had to wait for it to cool and then with a winch holding me down and a little tug, I started it and drove up.

Hahaha... "channel" the only other video I've ever posted was me clearing an IED in Maiwand in 2008. Nothing worth sub'ing to.

also, at "suspension mods".... stock LX on 35s has to be one of the best all around UTEs out there. I replaced my UCAs but I'd hardly count it as a mod.

Hell's Revenge and Gate is challenging, but doing the lollipop on Top of the World was so much harder and taxing.

How did it go on Top of the World? My lower rear shock mount kept getting hung up on ledges. The Trail Tailor guards helped though.

Careful spotting by a couple of pros, a few stacked rocks, and taking some at different angles. I have a few good videos I'll post up.

I think I hit my passenger side once but not hard enough to do anything. Hit my front TT recovery point a couple times. Drug my full spare a lot. Broke my trailer wire plug cap AGAIN bang! Popped a big dent in my rear bumper on the driver side corner. Scraped my rear pumpkin superficially.

Nothing permanent. And all of this with Moab city water and Zerex knock-off coolant and no heater tees.

Oh I just meant sub so I'd get notified when you post these recent videos. I sub to TeCK too just to so I see any new mods he's done deployed on the trail.

Recently moved from my 100 (still for sale!) to a 200. I have always liked the look of the 100 better, but after a week of driving a LX570 I’m starting to really like the way it looks!

It got its first small off road adventure today!

Stock ‘09 with 191k. Really clean! Interior looks basically new. A few minor dings but the paint cleaned up nice!

I’m really excited about this rig!
