I'm looking to purchase a Hi Lift mount for an FJ40. Unless I get rear swing out, I can't think of a better method to mount it than the method that was designed to put it standing upright on the passenger-side running board. It looks like a snag waiting to happen, but @StaleAle promises to pay for any damage I might incur. The mount doesn't appear to be made anymore. Does anyone have one laying around that they want to part with?

Mr Landcruiser in Oz still makes the side mount. I've got one if you'd like to take a look.

Guy in western MD has that mount and was at fall crawl 2 years ago and that mount saved his windshield and frame from a branch that snapped back from a truck in front of him that impacted the high lift jack rather than the windshield frame. I do get where it would snag on everything on tight trails but in that case it worked out perfectly.
He got his from Mr Landcruiser and it was well made.

Need some help - looking for front becket seats in ANY condition. FJ40 South American import 85 but some ~72 parts strewn about.

I took my front buckets to get reupholstered. They took the foam down and found the reclining hinge on the passenger is welded together andbolted onto the seat frame. Clearly the hinge hole for the seat back broke off, so the South American resto bolted a recliner hinge from another seat to this side and welded the mechanism shut.

The shop said they need my seats out by Thursday so if anyone has some junker front buckets laying around please let me know. Will pay.

I got a '92 with 80k on it and put 200k miles on it without a major breakage. Pretty solid engine after the head gasket had been done. Yes, it is very slow. Loved the 5-speed.
