Here is a 43x14.50-20LT Interco TSL-SX on the back of my blue rig. I will say that loading a 200Lb tire
takes 2-3 people to mount. Unloading by myself is possible, but If i have to put it back in the rig by myself it goes on the cargo area floor and just perfectly to be strapped down. I have a ATV winch setup now that I use to load at my place. I will be reconstructing the carrier to integrate the winch for a permanent solution since it is very quick, I can have the tire winched and mounted in 5 minutes. If using a swing carrier I highly recommend
additional support gusseting from the pivot point to frame rail. 40"+ Tires are no Joke. Serious weight, plan ahead.

Gah. I want 40s but it seems like such a hassle
When you roll through stuff that stops most rigs, you won't want to ever go back ;)

This is true, sorta. You can't really lay the hammer down with stock axles on 45's.

I can get it up there myself but it takes everything I have. I feel pretty good about it not breaking off and it hasn't yet so...

I had it in the back for a while and that sucked.

7 years on stock elocker axles loaded with 5.29's externally trussed with only regular knuckle seal service at standard intervals isn't so bad. Mind you I don't beat the rig so that may minimize the carnage but I've surely mashed the pedal plenty through snow, mud, and sand. Everyone thinks you absolutely have to upgrade to Dana 60's or something, but my rule on my rig has been only to change out if something broke or was inadequate. I'll post up as soon as I have axle failure but we're heading for year 8 on 43" and up tires.

I mostly do rock crawling which is why I’m a bit scared. I don’t do anything Fast really but I like pushing the limits of traction and what the rig will do

Fitting 37s, 40s, and beyond, could be a little bit easier if portal axles are used?

the problem is finding portals to use. 404 mog diffs would be your first thought however the third member is really long. volvo diffs would be your next best like that tired iron guy's cruiser but finding them might be an issue. (both come with lockers though) best bet would be either a set of patrol diffs with mark's portals or some on a set of the 70series cruiser diffs but they are not cheap, worth 4 times my cruiser and I wouldn't have to ship them overseas.

Sexy, looks like you would benefit from lengthening your lower links a scosh to help with that trimming back there by the rear door.
