Be sure to ask them to tell others NOT to camp in site 6, that is where we will be. We do not need the random toy haulers and all their atv's and motorcycles running around and through camp all day and night.

you have to admit though that the toy hauler was damn impressive!

Speaking of tacos I found this idea online....

I think it would work for camp food.... Premake the meat mix and it'll be simple to do.

@Jakes40 and I had a good meeting with The Cove today. We will be going to and event fee for the weekend, I will go over prices below. Please keep in mine if you want to have a shooting range day it is 15 dollar per person for a day pass and is not included in the event fee. The benefits to switching to an event fee is the pricing will be consistent throughout the weekend for everyone and no tax will be applied to your fee. Everyone pays the same thing! Upon your arrival at The Cove you will fill out their required paperwork as normal, pay your fee and you will be given a price of paper with a number on it. You must provide this numbered paper to CLCC at the registration tent in order to register and receive your swag/raffle ticket.

The Cove pricing for Fall Crawl 25

Event fee - Friday 10/24 to Sunday 10/26 @ 12 noon
130.00 (per person)

What this means is no matter what time you show up between Friday through Sunday, you will pay the 130.00 event fee (per person) that includes camping/wheeling fees for the event. Sunday is a pack/ clean up day and the event ends 12 noon.

if you want to show up earlier than Friday that is fine, you just have to pay 65.00 for every additional day (camping/wheeling fees )

If you come Wednesday. It would be 65 for Wednesday, 65 for Thursday And then the 130.00 weekend event fee. Totaling 260.00

If you show up on Thursday. It would be 65 for Thursday and the 130.00 weekend event fee. Totaling 195.00

And so on if you decide to show up earlier or stay later. We believe this will make this year easier and have less confusion for everyone

FIREWOOD? The cove is perfectly fine with you bringing your own firewood. The only request is either burn it all while your there or take with you what you do not burn.

CLCC will have a sign posted at The Coves check in center with the pricing as discussed listed to also eliminate any confusion. Please let me know if you have any questions

Question .... If we want to come on Wednesday but not wheel is there an option for that?

Good question, this year we are trying to keep everything as simple as possible, so the fees are set at 65.00 per day per person if your are wheeling or not

This keeps confusion low, I will still be heading up Wednesday but maybe a bit earlier and get some wheeling in ;)

Keep in mind as well you are not paying the 8.8% tax on the daily fee so when you get to thinking about it, it's really not too bad

Oh I'm not complaining I was curious cause if I show up early afternoon I'm not going on the trails....so just curious

What about kids? $130 for adults, same for kids? Discount for kids under certain age?
we did have a conversation about that and future conversations will continue . For this year our goal was to streamline the process so the price is Per Person that includes kids

What is the regular per night camping rate for people that just come to camp? People unrelated to the event is what I mean.

For what it's worth when we tried to negotiate with Rausch Creek to continue to hold the coal mine cruiser classic there they were unwilling negotiate anything for our large group to help with the costs.

The math Is what it is. Its 65 dollars a day is what it comes out to for on site camping/land use fee at The Cove for Fall Crawl, which IMO isn't bad.

Do I wish it was per truck and not per person? Of Course I do!!! but at the end of the day it a phenomenal private property wheeling location that I along with many others enjoy wheeling at. The Cove has their pricing and it is what it is, I'm thankful they took the time to meet with us to come up with this plan. We discussed a good deal of topics on how other (larger events) are run there and it just makes sense. That is the reason for making this information available to everyone prior to the event so everyone can make their own decision on whether or not the would like to attend.

I do understand the the attempts to Negotiate with Rausch Creek or lack there of. We have explored other venue options in the past. What it comes down to location location location. We are a MD/DC/VA based club and we want to house the event in VA. The Cove offers good Camping with Great Wheeling and is local for most.

All the other venues explored we either have to camp in a gravel parking lot, drive out to a camp ground away from the trails, property isn't big enough to house everyone on the trails, or its a greater distance accruing more fuel and travel costs (again for most). Spread sheets have been made and even if the event moved the cost would still be about the same. So the club took a vote and we are where we are. I for one am excited to wheel at the cove and have no issue with the price. I pay it once a year and always have a great time. We are just trying to make the event run smoother and more consistent for everyone attending

Don't get me wrong. I'm coming to the event, I like the cove a lot, I like the people (mostly... ) and the event immensely. I'm not criticizing you or your efforts at all. I don't think the price is unreasonable at all and I agree that other venues are not an option for this event. At least not until more venues come online.
I look forward to the event, I look forward to seeing you all.
