I am looking for a OEM air conditioning unit for a 1983 FJ40.

I am looking for the controller box, auxiliary wire loom extension and the evaporator unit with the corner vents (I was able to track down a unit from an older FJ40 but apparently the wiring loom from the controller box is not compatible). It will have to be from a late model FJ40 (I believe 1980 or newer but even later model is preferable).

I know that I am looking for hen's teeth but I am hoping there is a toothless hen somewhere out there!

Please let me know if you have any or all of these parts available.

I have attached some pics for reference.

Thanks!!!

you'll also need the ultra rare heater/blower duct

and the different battery tray/mount, I think it's different to clear the comp.

Like 3_puppies said, I need the heater/blower duct (it has a dent in it to clear the back side of the inside unit) as well.

I am willing to pay someone a finder's fee if they can find it for me if they can put me in touch with someone that has it (if you can find who has it that would great - I have tried all the obvious, SOR, cruiserparts.net, cruisersolutions, cruisercorps). If you can actually verify that the source you are referring me to has it that is really what I am looking for as far as a finder's fee. It can be the whole a/c unit or any one of the parts (heater/blower duct, a/c controller, a/c evaporator).

Thanks in advance and here is hoping I can track one down!

Found a picture for a right hand drive heater/air duct for reference that goes under the left side of the dash (I need the one for a left hand drive vehicle).

Also, got one reply as far as someone having a complete unit but it looks like they weren't serious about selling.

If you have a complete unit or any of the pieces please let me know what price you would like to part with it (I really don't want to have to play a guessing game and the value to each person could vary depending on if it is complete, in good shape, works, if they are doing a stock restoration, etc).

In the end, I want to make sure everyone is happy with the transaction.

Thanks in advance!

Here are some accurate pictures of the actual heater air duct that I am hoping to find.

I believe the "L200" is the part number that is imprinted on the duct.

Thanks in advance and here is hoping someone can help me find this part!

Regarding that heater duct....if any one has one, I can take a mold of it, and fab them up out of fiberglass or carbon fiber if anyone is interested.

Just throwing it out there - we sell a lot of Audi and Porsche parts in Carbon, so making a duct is a piece of cake!

I know for sure that the heater air duct is one of the biggest differences between the left and right hand drive. I also believe that the lines out of the back of the evaporator blower unit that goes under the dash might be on the opposite side but am not sure about that.

Thanks for the offer to fab up the piece from one that someone might have that is a good one. Hopefully, someone will have one that isn't being used and we could figure out a way to make it happen.

Thanks again and here's hoping something turns up!!

Hey checked for you Bill I don't have any of those parts sorry I couldn't help you out

Could use one as well. Would be a great part for the Heritage program but that program seems to be a flop to us in the US. I have a RHD with parts in Australia hoping to reverse engineer using a non A/C LHD duct. Seen the non A/C duct used by cutting the ends and replacing the center with a couple of flexible hoses, but want to avoid that if possible. The under dash evaporter have the same part number LHD or RHD as long as it's twelve volt.

Good Day. Does anyone have an alternative for the controller? 888601 sw. control 1983 FJ40? Or OEM for sale?

Regards Julian

There were some for sale in the mud classifieds in recent years. eBay also had some for sale.
Edit - I see you are in the Neatherlands. Are you looking for 24volt?

It's $900 USD for the controller, wiring harness and evaporator/blower
