I’d like to start this post by saying I have searched the forum and while there are other people having something similar. It does not seem like they’re describing what I’m hearing.
My lx470 has a weird grind noise only on super cold starts. almost like a pulsing grind, definitely not constant. It’ll grind for the first block or 2 on and off…. Mostly on acceleration at very low speeds, almost crawling speed… then go away. Performance does not seem affected. Once I’ve driven 3 blocks it’s completely gone and doesn’t return regardless of speed.
Everything seems like it runs great. Sometimes shifting gears is a little “harsh”. But it seems like that loud “thud” is some what common, based on what I’ve seen on this forum. And it’s benign unless someone says otherwise. (Obviously I don’t think is related but may as well throw in a bone for a guru)
I have an appointment at a tech next week, but I thought id try to be grown up and figure it out first. Anyone have this experience?
My gut says it’s nothing to worry about. Id be happy to post a video of the sound too. But baby steps
