I have opportunity to delete my sunroof as the entire roof and headliner will be replaced as part of an accident repair. In theory, I think I could just buy the non-sunroof roof panel. I looked up that part number (63111-60780) and called a dealer to see if they could get it and this wasn't a valid number for them so they said "can't do it." They said I'd have to call a dealer in Australia or other market where non-sunroof 200's were sold and import the part.

Can anyone in Australia confirm the part number:

If US Toyota dealers really can't get these parts, and I would have to have an Australian dealer ship a large panel and headliner, I doubt that would be really practical/economic. Probably better and cheaper to just have the body shop weld a skin over the sunroof hole as they will already be welding panels together and painting.

Mexico may be an option?

Even if they patch the hole you'll need to get your hands on a headliner..

Good idea. For the headliner, I think I could use the one made for a sunroof and just keep the sliding panel closed. Maybe add some noise, insulation or something.

If you delete the sunroof, matching would require new headliner and new front light panel deleting sunroof switches. If there is any chance you would ever plan to sell, I'd either match or just out back in a sunroof. If you only replace the roof, it would be very difficult to sell in the future.

ebay to the rescue? Roof on ebay

International freight on a roof panel will stop your heart.

And, it will get damaged along the way.

Understood but I think the resale impact has already happened in that my rig has had two major accidents repaired. I’m ok with it because I know what happened and how it was repaired but most buyers would only see two major accidents that almost totaled the truck each time. Plus all the mods reduce the market even more. At this point, I’m in this rig for the experience and I just accept it as all cost and zero value in terms of net worth. I have no intention to ever sell it.

I don't mind the sunroof in these. It's not a pano sunroof that has issues with breaking, leaking and creaking. Plus there's plenty of headroom with it, so what are you gaining by deleting it?

It’s a potential leak source that has turned into an actual leak source for at least some here. To be fair I don’t know the how many 200s have had issues but it has been brought up here a few times.

Initially I was thinking the body shop could get the parts to delete the sunroof just as easily as the other parts. I thought it would be simple to delete it and not really cost anything to do so, and then I would never have to worry about a thing I never use leaking.

My 2009 has issues from the sunroof leaking. Despite cleaning the drain tubes every year or two, one still managed to clog. When this happens, the leak path is down the drivers side a-pillar and onto some expensive wire harness junctions.

Someone on the boards “sealed” their sunroof with adhesive wrap film. Seems like a cheap and effective solution for those concerned about leaks. You can black it out and cover the window completely or cut out a sky light. Be sure to disconnect the switches to prevent unintended opening.

For those that don't know, CruiserDan has an enormous amount of experience getting parts of all sizes shipped around the world. When he says it "will" get damaged, I'd listen.
