I haven’t been able to find anybody that builds bumpers for the LX 570’s to accommodate for the 1.5” body lift. I’d love to know more about yours and see more pics.

Derek is a fairly new and small operation and just does fabrication on the side currently. He has a small auto dealership specializing in Toyotas. He is a cruiser guy and I just suggested he get involved in the Mud community if he's not already. He's primarily on Instagram. Here's a short video he took of the bumper when he finished making and installing it. I continue to be very happy with it. I had a TJM bumper previously that I really liked, but this one has a little better clearance and of course was built with the body lift in mind.

I hope he built a jig for that… seems like a really nice bumper that a few people on here adding body lifts would probably scoop up quickly

I would be interested in a raw diy kit..
DIY means different things to different folks. I bought my RLC rear unpainted for pretty cheap and did the paint etc myself. All in with lights and paint and everything it was maybe half the cost of the other options. I can’t weld however

RLC doesn’t do a front though.

I would just like the pieces of his bumper, I can weld and all the other things. The time consumption of the actual fab is what gets me.

I love my TJM bumper but this one is an eye catcher

:EDIT: nevermind, I see now that his front fender chop basically cut off the offending section of the rocker at a vertical-ish angle.

Sorry for the thread derail. I still haven't installed my kit (or a bunch of other stuff in the "parts pile"). But is this Chad guy on MUD? If not, can you PM me a good way to get in touch with him? I'm super curious about his rocker plastics. It doesn't look like a traditional chopped rocker when I zoom in on the photo, but the "mudlfap" dopdown area at the front wheelwell is gone. I want this bad and I've been racking my brain on how to achieve it cleanly like this, fiberglass, etc.

I came in to the shop to work on kits this weekend and had a chance to make a phone call to someone who I had heard was at Cruise Moab.

This is Chad from Colorado and he happened upon my YouTube videos running big tires and asked a few questions and dove into fabricating his own body lift and getting onto 37’s for his ‘08 LC.

@J2HundyOutfitters is what he goes by on here. He makes a few parts now and has a thread on an alternative gasket for the valley plate. He is pushing the limits of the 200 platform now with 42’s! 👏🏼

Absolute beast of a rig!

So all i need to buy to run 39/40's is a NST Spec body lift and a saw. Seems easy enough! :hillbilly:

You’ll be cutting more than Chad did if you use my body lift. He built his own 3” body lift!

But that’s the basic recipe for any big tire in my opinion 😂

With that in mind, Toyo now shows their new RT Pro available in a 40x12.5r17 (most 40’s are 13.5” wide) with a weight of 94lbs. Seems like the next best tire for you to try, Jason. Just purchase plenty of extra saw blades 🤙🏼

Yea, that's why I said 39's. -1.5" radius difference so a 3" vs a 1.5" BL is relative in my mind since most trucks can clear a ~36" tire with minor mods and the correct wheels. Wild part is he is still on stock bumps! I don't mind cutting at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, but this in theory would eliminate the need to cut at the 12 o'clock position.

Plus a body mount delete just sounds so cool. I heard it comes included with the extra saw blade purchase!

Yep! I’m totally behind you 100%, let’s get cutting 😉

I’m going to need to raise the price on these kits a little bit but want to give everyone as much of a heads up as possible. So, everyone will have a little over 30 days before the prices go up by $50 per kit on 9/1/25. I am a couple weeks out before my most recent order of the 230mm long custom fine thread bolts arrive and I can ship any more 1.5” kits. I have one 1” kit available as of today already boxed up and ready to go.

I will continue to try to make improvements to the kits as I can and one of those things is trying to add a custom washer like the factory one with tabs to the custom length bolts. I have a request for a quote from another local shop and hope they are reasonable. I’d love to keep making the kit more and more like the factory OEM hardware as much as possible.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I’m open to hearing it. I may try to round up either a 2nd gen Tundra or 100 series before the end of the year and develop a kit or two for that vehicle also. We’ll see if my time frame can work out.

Thank you again for the support!
Micah

Have you had any issues with getting your vehicle passing inspection with the LRA? Or does it hide well enough under the tire?
Is it common to have issues passing inspection with an LRA? I've got the giant 40gal that sticks down so there's no hiding it. I've had it for at least a few inspections and it's never come up.

It depends on the state

Yes, sorry not to side track the conversation - but yes, YellowJacket, California for some odd reason it's part of the inspection process. I have no idea why, I've tried to figure it out, but it is for whatever reason. With the 12 gal, it sits semi hidden behind the tire, and TeCKis300 has a vehicle that I'm basically trying to copy and I think he's in California as well. I also have an Airstream (not as big as his) and I would like modest modifications that make the vehicle more fun while keeping it practical, much like he has done, so I was happy to see him commenting both on the LRA and the body lift here.
