Looks nice. i do see some over spray in a few places. always makes me nervous. my buddy lives near by. im trying to get him to go look at it. if i get any more info ill pass it along.

My guess is it's a good deal and will sell fast...first person to have a chance to look at it will buy it, unless there's something really bad wrong that wasn't shown in the ad. If I lived close I'd jump on it but I have little to no chance of being first in line so I just need to move on and keep looking.

The seller has somebody coming by at 5pm today to buy it.

I do hope it doesn't end until as another ad on Craigslist being parted out!

I bought it over the phone last night, but couldn't pick up til friday, said he would hold it for me, and today he sells it to someone else? No ones word means anything anymore.

Man that stinks
Sorry to hear

I had that happen a couple of months ago
Said I would buy one locally and would come down right now (around 6PM)
He said he couldn't meet until the next morning so I asked what the earliest possible time was - 7:30 AM
On my way there at 7:00 I called to confirm
He sold it !!!!!

Saw it on ebay a week or so later referred to as a Jeep in the description
It sold for 6K more than he was asking

Good chance we will see this one on Ebay

I just texted him
If someone really wants it here he would sell it
You may have to send money paypal but he said its still available
I cant do it

We did not make a deal over the phone. I only agreed you could look at it Friday on your way through town. Sorry you feel that was dishonest but again I never agreed to sell it to you or hold it. So far no one has been here with cash in hand yet. My word is as good as anyone's. The only offers I have received were from people out of town and a request to hold it for two weeks which I am not interested in doing. Thanks for looking.

The FJ40 is sold. My only regret is that I was unable to drive the 3hrs to Redding this morning with the cash. Somebody got a great deal! Nobody should have any hard feelings.

Congratulations to the seller!

Thanks, yes I can confirm it is sold now. It sounded like it was on it's way to live in Western Oregon so you may all still see it around the West Coast roaming the dunes of Oregon. One thing I did appreciate was the new buyer did not have plans to chop her up. He sounded like he planned to keep her stock like I have all these years.

Appreciate everyone who called or wrote me and sorry if I did not get back to you. I literally had dozens of messages to go through in between work today.

I didn't want to sell her but getting married in the spring and need something larger I can fit a whole family in and haul a trailer and the quads with. Hope to be back to the group again someday with an older FJ40 that is not doomed to be sniffed by the California smog man every couple of years. Cheers everyone. -TrailBlogger

@TrailBlogger I think the lesson you take away from this is that your asking price was too low:)

I texted you and your responses were great. No complaints here.

Perhaps I could have got more if I was willing to wait but unfortunately I am in a situation where I needed to move fast.

Likewise
Just hope it goes into someone's hand that won't flip it or cut it up

Hope not either but it is his now. He did specifically say he had been wanting to find a stock one in good condition for some time now so he could restore it rather than chop it. Seemed like an honest guy. There is another one (1968) south of here for less money so I would think if you were just going to chop it up you would go with that one instead for less money, Here is the link 1968 Toyota Land Cruiser
