So after living with the E-rated 275/70r18 for a few months I found myself feeling a lot more “road feel” transferred through the OEM suspension than I would like. I really haven’t put that many miles on them (around 1,500 miles) so I went back to Discount Tire to see if I could find some solution. They tried balancing them without any noticeable improvement. Then the manager said well we just got a set of the new Nitto Terra Grappler G3 (brand new design) in stock in the same size 275/70r18 but it is SL rated (not LT), would you like to give them a try? I didn’t even ask how much and said Yes! He swapped them over and so far it feels like back to stock again. After they were done Discount Tire didn’t charge me a dime to swap them out, sure they were a bit cheaper than the LT KO3 but that’s a lot of labor and disposal and most any other shop tires don’t exactly have any return or exchange policy for a set 3 month old tires (5 tires) Needless to say I am a customer for life.

Those are also 14lbs lighter than the KO3's, EACH!!

That is a massive difference, and should be noticeable in acceleration. Maybe. These trucks are heavy, so it may not be as noticeable.

Just FYI:

The RCTIP (Recommended Cold* Tire Inflation Pressure) for those 275/70R18 116T SL tires on your LC200 is 33psi F/R.

*According to Toyota:

Tire Pressure vs. Tire Temperature

Tire temperature is dependent on “cold” tire pressure, driving distance and speed, ambient temperature and road surface temperature. As the temperature of the tire changes, air in the tire expands and contracts, changing the tire’s air pressure. The cold tire pressure for all Toyota models will vary and will need to be adjusted accordingly.

“Cold” tire pressure, as shown on the tire pressure label on our vehicles, is generally considered to be the pressure in a tire that has not been driven in the past 4 hours and has been parked outdoors.

That’s awesome. If you’re not towing or crawling in a razor rock garden I say go for it. I jumped on some cooper discoverer at3 XLT E-rated in the same size since they were so cheap and they have been great so far but I’ve definitely felt the weight.

Wait they’re also three peak rated in that size?? Damn you!

No rock crawling, that’s what my Jeep is for

Thanks for the write up, these look great. They look like a sweetspot between street and the more aggresive/loud A/Ts. Are you running a spacer with them? OEM front strut lift? Really love the look of your truck.

Thanks, truck has 1 inch Bora wheel spacers and the Westcott collar lift. Neither are required for these tires, but it gives it a better stance, my goal was to make it look as if the truck would have come with 33’s from the factory.

FWIW.. if you do not need an "E" rated tire for what you do and are more concerned with ride quality and noise and such.. and LT or SL is probably the way to go..
I moved my Cooper XLT At3's over to my daughters jeep and the ride for her was 100% better than the M/T E rated firestones she had on there before...

I needed to go up in size but stayed at the same E rating just with a Nitto and it has as almost as good of ride as the Cooper AT3 XLT E's..

Anyway I would consider myself in the use case for "E" rated, since I managed kill a couple of tires in the past 2 years, and run them pretty low off road

Yeah I don't do any towing so definitely going for an SL rating

Any update on how you're liking these tires? Considering pulling the trigger but also looking at the AT4Ws
They have been great! I am taking a road trip this weekend so I’ll see how they do MPG wise, but so far I have zero regrets, even the wife said it rides like stock again

Hello, im also interested in updates as im in the market of a new set of tires for my 200. i'm between these and the wildpeak at3w as tirerack states that theyre only 41 lbs at 285/65/18. How did it perform on the road trip? Love the ride btw op !

They are fantastic, rides like stock, no harshness over bumps. I would buy them again in a heartbeat

You get no rubs on these? Not even at full lock?
