I need Moonglow pearl for my '95 FZJ80. Dan can't ship paint. I talked to my local Toyota parts guy. It took him a while to find the paint in the book, despite having my paint code, paint name and vin. Then he found it and ordered it, said it would take 10 days, but just called and said its discontinued.

So, it is true? No more touch up paint for us? Any other ideas?

Speaking of paint, I'm going to the stealership in a bit to have something looked at on my girlfriend's 4Runner and I need to buy some touch up paint but have no idea what color it is called.

What is the green color that has shades of purple and black depending on what sunlight you're in?

Here's a link to a pic of mine.

Yes, I want to get rid of the scratch on the side.

So I went and ordered one paint that ended in pearl because the guy said it was the only green color. The dude didn't mention anything about it being discontinued......

Damn you, iPhone.

If all else fails, you can try this person on ebay...Seems like a decent price on the pen but shipping is (as seems to be the case with most ebay sellers) steep

Toyota OEM Touch-up Paint Pens

If the link is old down the road the seller's name is "paintpens"

I haven't gotten "the call" informing me that the color of my needs is discontinued. Maybe they just had an assload of the color I needed in stock.

6m1 "Emerald Green Pearl" Purplish/Black/Blue metallic depending on lighting conditions (also a PITA to touch up as it looks fugly)

I ordered my touch-up paint 11 days ago, the guy said 10.

I wonder if they plan on calling me back.

Damn the USPS and it's problem with shipping flammable liquids.

I want to get rid of the rock dings in the hood.

Black rhinoliner fixes paint chips nicely...

I got paint from paintscratch.com and it's a top notch match, plus it's really reasonably priced compare to the nail polish things you get from the stealership that look like cccrrrrraaaaapppppp...

I dinged up my tailgate with a snowmobile trailer and just got finished using the rattle cans from them. I still have to hit it with some rubbing compound to bring up the shine, but I can't wait to get to town on the roof damage from my old factory paint remover/rust promoter (luggage rack).

I like it so much I'm considering using it on something extremely rainbow flag like new bumpers. Just kidding!

I'm not 100% into looks, so I just want to cover up the spots from rock hits below the grill guard and hood, and the PO must have had an enemy cause there's about a foot long key mark on the driver's side passenger door.

I just want them to call me. Stupid Novato Toyota.

I'm not into looks either or I would have bought a new tailgate or paid some thief way too much money to pound out my FU.

A little sanding, and a couple rattle cans go a long way IHMO...;)

I just got a call from Norman of Novato Toyota and my paint just got in.

Not 10 days later.

Not 15 days later.

But it's in. And now we know that not all touch up paint is discontinued.

I tried to buy some Moonglow touchup and according my dealer moonglow is discountinued. he sent me to the local paint place and they mixed a can and i got it for dealer cost. i think it is odd that the 40th sage color (1B2) is still around but moonglow isn't because I think an avalon uses the same. anyway. all 80 colors are still around except moonglow. hopefully you'll find what you need through a different source.

I just bought the 6m1 touch-up pen yesterday from Fred Haas Toyota, plenty on hand . The guy helping me hadn't heard of any colors being discontinued.

Brian, Bob's Paintland in Hazel Dell (just off I-5 at the 99th street exit) will custom mix paint for you, I had a metallic aerosol can mixed to match the plastic trim on my LX470. Looked good to me. A can is about $18, IIRC, a few bucks cheaper and a lot faster than the internet/mail order places. Not entirely sure they do touch up bottles, but would be worth you asking. I'm sure there is someplace in Portland that does it, but when I called around I even called one of the wholesale suppliers and they recommended Bob's.
