My wife totaled my old 80 w/ no D (~90,000 miles).
My new one has a D (~137,000)

The death of the "D" has much less to do with the number of Miles on the clock, and much more to do with the time it took you to put them on.
The more important and critical life factor would be the speed you traveled (average speed) translated into the time you have spent in "D"
I can spend all day (10 hours) in "D" and only go a 100 miles

It was out when I bought it with 135K. I will try the ol' love tap.
mine was out when I got the truck at 125,000
And me. Out at 119k when I bought it two years ago. Still out at 127k. I can't say it's really bothering me. Shouldn't that be a poll?

FIGHT THE POWER! Fellow 80 owners, this is an easy fix! Make those "D"'s shine bright again! Follow your spiritual path to Cdan and get those two magic bulbs. He knows what you need. Your 80 will be complete again and give good karma in return.
Bought my 97 with 130k and no "D". Wish the damn CEL bulb would burn out!!
