Mine was out when I bought mine at 194K along with the "pwr" light. I can't stand it when dash lights don't work so I fixed it right a way and like it much better now that it's working. It's dimmer than the others and doesn't bother me at all at night. The "pwr" light, however, is really bright and bothers me a lot at night...

Mine was out when I got it. It it's broke I fix it, that's the way I roll.

Replacement is straightforward, although you will have to wiggle the cluster to get it out. It's a tight fit. I found that I had to tilt the top forward and then pulled the left side out.

1) remove the lower trim beneath the steering wheel.

2) remove the upper trim above the steering wheel.

3) disconnect the wiring harness to the upper trim.

4) remove the cluster trim.

5) unscrew the cluser.

6) disconnect the cluster wiring harness.

7) wiggle the cluster free.

8) compress tabs on center piece.

9) unscrew brown colored bulb sockets and replace.

I replaced all of them while I was there.

Mine went out at around 230K, but then I hit the dash and it came back on again. Hasn't gone out since.

Mine was replaced by the PO at 171,707 in 2004. The replacement bulb is still working for me at 230,920.

Mine went out right at 115xxx, no D

No "D" here at 118500. It was burnt when I bought the rig at 97K miles, and it's still burnt. Imagine that! I can't say that I miss it, though. If it was as bright as the others, I think I would find it annoying. I'm generally able to figure out I'm in drive without it.

Mine went out at about 99K. I replaced it (buncha slackers) with a part from Cdan.

It doesn't burn nearly as brightly as the others. I don't know if it should be that way or not, I don't recall (I don't think so).

Not worth going back in at this point, I may order another at some point, 'cause that's just how I roll:flipoff2:

Bought mine at 99,980 and the "D" was already burnt out.

B.

No D upon purchase at 160,000. it's nice to know I'm not alone.

131k for me, no d light for awhile now.

my "d" is working fine. can't say that about "2".

139K...and no "D", I bought the truck with 125K....with no "D" used it as a haggling point with the seller! :D

I replaced my "D"......but only because I was replacing the clear plastic cluster face (it was really bothering me looking at my CEL through a haze) after-all you do spend a 3rd of your time in the cockpit looking at your gauges.

I must have been the only one who found this funny. Maybe you should fix the CEL instead? :D

Mine went bye-bye at ~170k, the wife's still annoys me at 105k.

-Spike (Even funnier- I've been ignoring the CEL light for 2 years now. :hillbilly:)

mine went out around 175k I'm "D"-less with195 now :)
