Just happened less than a month ago, 142.2k miles.

No "D" here at 118500. It was burnt when I bought the rig at 97K miles, and it's still burnt. Imagine that! I can't say that I miss it, though. If it was as bright as the others, I think I would find it annoying. I'm generally able to figure out I'm in drive without it.

Mine was out when I bought the truck at 183K. I replaced the bulb and ended-up taking out again, for the reasons you stated. I prefer the panel w/o the "D" light.

The D light being burned out is the whole reason I sold that last truck to Kaderabek. My current truck has 148k and it just went out, so I sure hope the Woody Thwack works so I don't have to sell it too.

EDIT>>> Wonder if we could file a class action suit against Toyota?:hillbilly:

I've bitch slapped the dash and the light came back on at 96k miles.

PS. It helps if you are wearing a wife-beater shirt instead of pink panties while slapping the cruiser :hillbilly::flipoff2:

No D light in mine since I bought it at 105K (125K now). Wife's works fine at 116K. For night driving, I like mine better. I even put a receipt or park card or something in front of the bright green 'CRUISE' light because I don't like bright lights in my dash at night (dimmer turned almost off.)

YMMV

Bought mine with 252k--no D. Bumped the dash one day, got my d back but it went out again a few days later. Called Dan and bought all new lights--easy 30 minute job.

257k now.

90K and D can't decide if it wants to stay or wants to go.

I'm almost tied with 450Cruiser for fewest miles & burned out bulb.

Got the truck at 93,200 with D light out. Doesn't bother me one bit

When I bought mine a couple years ago the D was out. Last year, I pulled the cluster and fixed it. Then about 2 weeks later I pulled the cluster and pulled the good bulb and put the burnt one back in. I couldn't take the brightness of it. If it adjusted with the instruments, I would have left it fixed.

Bought it with 154K and no "d". Has anyone tried to replace it?

I replaced my "D"......but only because I was replacing the clear plastic cluster face (it was really bothering me looking at my CEL through a haze) after-all you do spend a 3rd of your time in the cockpit looking at your gauges.

I would suggest this to all ye who have scratches........after replacement it is like driving a brand new 80:cool:.

My D was out when I bought it at 165k.

164,500 and D light out (don't know for how long...just bought)

However, with a smack to the dash this morning....boom we have a D light

I'm at 90,000 miles and my cluster D light still works, BUT the light next to the gear selector in center counsel is out, so does that count? I just want to belong. Actually, if I give the selector a thump the light comes back on sometimes. I imagine it is pretty easy to replace, but it is way down on the to do list.

Damn lemon:flipoff2: (I kid I kid!)My D light reignited for a few monthes with a sharp rap....but alas the love is gone...no d for me....the lights at the shifter are intermittent now as well....~170K miles on my beloved '94

147k no DDDDDDDD.

Mine went out at around 90K

The "D" club

Hmm, sounds like I'm in the minority. My "D" light still works and I'm at 168,000. :grinpimp:
