I was the first person to arrive on scene for that. I saw the dust cloud as I approached the location. I am glad no one was in the way when it came down. They are still clearing it as of 1:00.

Hopefully they'll finally repave some of that road.
All the traffic going to Bandelier has really been tearing it up over the past few years.
And that hill was the worst stretch.

This is all I took.

The road does need work but I wouldn’t blame the road deterioration all on Bandelier traffic. There is plenty of other traffic on that road to contribute to it.

Thanks for the update and picture.

Oh man, don't fix it. It'd be more fun to watch people go up and over it

Speaking of Bandelier traffic, I drove that road with my camper to go camping at the Bandelier CG last year and I concur that is it very rough. The contents of every cabinet in the camper were spilled out onto the floor when I arrived at the CG.

It really got a lot worse after they started running the buses to Bandelier from the White Rock visitor center.
I just don't believe (and I may be wrong) that the road was really constructed in a way to handle heavier commercial vehicles.
I certainly don't remember any road renovations there in my lifetime, so its likely a product of an old road.
