A few months ago I started looking for new tires .. I’ve run Nitto Terra Grappler G2 since I bought the truck, They still have a fair amount of tread left after 45k miles. I wanted Goodyear Duratrac but they have not been available in 295/70 18 for months. So after a bit of research settled on the new Nitto Recon Grappler. As advertised they are almost as quiet as stock tires and come with two different sidewall lug patterns.

This was helpful and exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks! Any review on how they perform off road?

I have been looking for tires as well and have been eyeballing these and the Toyo AT3's Quiet is a plus for sure let us know how they do on the trails!

I’m not sure if this guy is paid but his review convinced me. It was thorough and covered all the conditions.

This has my attention as my KO2s are aging and I'd like to try something newer. As a North Carolinian, our wet red clay is a real challenge likely known to many of the southeast Mudders--if these hand that fairly well, that's a pretty strong testament in my book.

So are these a hybrid between AT and MT ? How do they compare to the Ridge Grapplers (also considered hybrid AT/MT)?

Also, I would take their reviews with a grain of salt since they are actually a Nitto website. They gain from making Nitto tires look good!
"Driving Line History
Launched in 2012 by Nitto Tire..."

This is all for the sake for transparency. I do like Nitto tires and am currently running 295/70/18 Ridge Grapplers with which I am pretty happy.

Following. The Ridge are amazing for the uses they target. Another option? Hmm...it needs to be the bees knees for many to change over, including myself.

Considering my LX is driven primarily on pavement these Recon’s are just right. I still can’t get over how quiet they are. Had the guys
at IPOR fold the pinch weld for clearance.

I ran 295/70r18 Ridge Grapplers. They’re probably quieter than KO2s but more aggressive. Loved those tired. I currently run KM3 and tho they look amazing. I miss the quiet ride of the Ridge.

Just put some Ridge Grapplers onto the wifes T4R and they are remarkably quiet. Probably would have gone with the Recons but they did not yet come in her size (275/70r17) but we needed tires immediately. We'll see how they go as the miles pile up. Now I have to decide between the recons and grapplers for the LX.

That setup looks great. Stock suspension? Any rubbing, ect?
2 inch lift, diff drop and SPC upper control arms….no rubbing since the pinch weld fold but this truck is not really wheeled just minor trial runs

Love Nittos. Are these also made in USA like the Ridge Grapplers?
That’s a good question that I thought I might find Goggling. Only to find some interesting facts. They’re a subsidiary of Toyo Tire. Nitto has 6 manufacturing facilities worldwide. The G2 will be made both in Japan and the US… that still didn’t answer your question so the easy solution was to check the tire and yes it’s made in the USA

Luke, how you liking the recon's after a few months?

Just picked up some method 305s at 17x8.5 with 0 offset. Thinking about pairing them with some 285/70 recons as they seem perfect for what I'm looking for (light trail work and smooth highway ride). Assuming i'll have to do use the heat gun on the front fender lining but don't foresee any issues besides that.

Also plan on finally installing your HID kit soon just been busy with stuff around the house haha.

The tires are fantastic…extremely quiet and smooth. Run nitrogen for a consistent tire pressure
