I'll camp wherever, but obviously, the closer the better.

An early start shall not infringe upon my imbibing ;)

I'll bring a pile of firewood, but cannot guarantee it will be enough...I want a big-ass fire, it's gonna be chilly!
I'll also be bringing bourbon, maybe some tequila, and a lot of food,
So, who's in for camping???

I am in for camping. I had a minor setback with my slider install this weekend...only got the passenger side bolted up...I am going to have to be a little more cautious with the driver side rocks.

No worries Morgan, you can just do all the hardest obstacles in reverse!

I'm in for camping Friday night. You guys can choose....the primitive sites I linked to or just go to RC. I'm up for either. I can bring a decent amount of wood along. I'll be sleeping in the back of the truck with one of these so I'm not too worried about being cold :)

I vote for primitive camping. Good call on the propane heater, I will probably bring one as well. I will bring a bunch of wood also.

Whew... I am so relieved...I was worried that "one of these" might have been along these lines...

I'm 80/20 in right now. Just got my 16's powder coated and the dill hole remounted the white walls out on 2 tires. So I have to get that fixed, and I need an oil change which I'm going to try and get done on Wednesday.

I'm still a beginner, so I'm hoping some of you will not be going nuts so I can follow.

Is there an official count on who confirmed for Saturday???

By my count, there are 9 people wheeling, plus one on the fence across 8 trucks. Also sounds like there are 6 folks down for camping

Fireball - Ben - Yes for camping on Friday and Wheeling Saturday

Mryanangel - Morgan - Yes for camping on Friday and Wheeling Saturday (will be bringing a friend for a ride-a-long)

Crusha - Yes for camping and wheeling, kb3gun as a passenger

Maxse01 - Maybe for wheeling...unknown for camping…needs and oil change and a sharpie to fix his whitewall problem.

Caz - Yes for wheeling and maybe for camping…I looked at the forecast and the high is expected to be around 55, which is above Caz’s limit of 40…does this mean you are in for camping?

Shmukster – Gary – Yes for wheeling, camping unknown.

VBRoamer – Yes for wheeling, camping unknown.

Satanic mechanic - Yes…provided his 55 is fixed.

What time are those that are camping planning on arriving at the primitive site Ben posted the link to?

Maxse, we'll make sure whoever comes along will not get in over their heads. I believe Rausch has quite a few challenging spots that are accessed by easier trails...for those in the group that wish to tackle them.

Morgan, I plan on arriving by four at the latest, I'd like some daylight to get set up.
Now, according to the map, the address is 200 Sparrow Lane in Pottsville. Anyone know if my Garmin will get me there by entering the address???
I'm totally unfamiliar with the area.

I am in for camping and wheeling. I am going to pass on the large woman that Crusha posted above. Although i am sure she has a lovely...ummm...personality.

I can arrive anytime on Friday, and will likely try to get there early to scout out the sites and pick the most favorable. As said before in a rather cliche' early 90s pop song "i've never been there but the brochure looks nice"

I have a 2 hour drive to get there from NJ, so my goal is to get there before sundown...shooting for about 5pm.

Ben - How did you find this spot? Random Google earth searching?

This is the direction google gave me from Gordon Nagle Trail....Turn left.

That looks like about a mile or so of woods and river between that end of the road and the dotted line (what the heck is that)

Ben - do you know if there is a trail there, or is google giving me the run-around.

The FS office closed at 4pm but I left them a message and sent an email. I found this by searching a few months ago when we were looking for primitive spots in the area. I called and spoke to them at that time and they told me where to find the map that I posted above and said there were 5 primitive spots with fire rings and picnic tables and no other facilities. That's all I know, but tomorrow I'll find out more details and the biggest and best spot and how to get to it.

Sound like a plan?!

Spoke with Fireball recently and he let me know about this gathering. If its alright with y'all, I'd like to join the Saturday wheeling...
I can cirtanly be there before 9, and if I don't roll it over, I plan to drive home the same evening.
Lookin' to break in the new shoes.

Shmukster here, no camping for me. Plan is to get to Rausch by 8AM Saturday with donuts, and be on the trail at 9AM. I'll be headed home in the afternoon. See you all Saturday! Gary S

Does anyone have a sharpie I can borrow?
