Are there any dedicated veggie oil / renewable oil converts here?

Anyone want some manuals for some weird otherworldly vehicles??

Special thanks to Nick! Found a 34 week listing from FB and guided me to a replacement bed for the Tundra for a whole
$850!! So instead of just a tailgate I got it all. Nick, now I hate you cause the whole truck is being painted now! LOL!
No, just kidding - it's just 2 doors and 2 fenders more now. Maybe one day before and after pics.

Should anyone care to follow along, the Tundra has taken on a life of its own.

I've seen plenty of discussions about homebrew penetrating oil, but anyone tried making degreaser?

Simple cheap ingredients. Wonder how well it'd work. I'm using something called formula 10 on a tcase right now, but those products get expensive.

Saw a few similar formulas. Usually vinegar seems to be the active ingredient.

Got any ideas on how to remove millscale dust and that kind of stuff from vinyl interior?
I‘ve tried three degreasers, doesn’t even make a dent in it. But vinegar and or bleach has come
up now. So that’s what I’ll try tomorrow.

Sounds like it's rust stains not grease?

Rust stain removers maybe?

Coke?

What's that acid that eats rust...oxalic I think? Might have that wrong

Back before my motorcycle was taken out I found the Crappy tire Citrus engine degreaser to be super impressive... it took years of chain grease and road grime off the rear wheel in a single application... spray on and hose off with the garden hose.

I’ve not seen the same brand in stock, but the Gunk Citrus degreaser seems almost as good. You might be able to concoct something similar.

Muriatic acid in a diluted solution was suggested. Late last night vinegar was also mentioned.
bleach. I’ve got all three, so I’ll try some chemistry over the weekend. These interior parts and panels
are really sadly disgusting. Repainting is a final option, PG45er named a brand of paint buy I’ve
forgotten the brand. I’ll only go that route if all else fails.

Anyone ever ordered from Montreal Auto parts?

I'm poking around for a 3b clutch. Napa sells the exedy ALT-0762407e and depending on which computer I go to their website from, the price is either 435 or 598.

Only place I see the 435 price is through the work computer, I look at home or on my phone and it's the 598.

Clutch Pack - New ALT 0762407E | Product Details (napacanada.com)

Work computer identifies as ontario, so who knows. Haven't actually called Napa yet or anything drastic like that. maybe I'll call today.

Anyways, in my browsing I find this, $306 with free shipping. Says Altrom, but also says Exedy and has same part number. :hmm:

Well that's something. Looking into the two prices Napa shows online, I noticed at work it defaulted to the Napa store in Sydney, and at home it was to the one in Nanaimo.

Called the nanaimo store, and yep, $598.

Told him the napa in sydney listed it for $435 and he says, " well we're private".

I said, "so that's it then?"

Long awkward silence..."Ok, thanks" Click.

Poking around seems sydney is the only one on the island that I've seen with the lower price. I contacted the MTL place too...price seems too good which makes me wonder.
