Anyone ever had anything to do with
Yota Tune Ltd? Know the owner? I’ve got a 2010 RCSB Tundra and after all the usual tune up stuff and some light mods. I’m going to see if these guys know anything or are afffordable.

Since South Island Imports shut down couple of years ago, who is the island buyer of all things Toyota?
Is there? Anyone been digging and finding out? Kinda curious if any one company has taken up the slack.

Seems to be you. :flipoff2:

No idea tho. I can't even remember the last time I went to a wrecker. They just don't have anything relavent to me anymore.

Can’t imagine :worms:

Pretty much the same here. It has been more than 25 years since I’ve found any cruiser parts at a wrecking yard. Getting close to 10 years for our “truck”.

Malahat has lots of parts for our car… most are not terribly pricey… partly because they usually have 10 or so at any given time that were written off cabs. It does make finding parts easier. Especially since the cars last a ridiculous number of miles. 300-400k miles is very normal… many have hit a million miles.

New technology is changing everything. Been involved in a thread about electric camping, and how much easier
it is and less complex now that there is greater efficiency. Battery tech is the most really unknown and expensive
change. Basically since of the fear of Lithium Ion battery fires, the new Lithium Phosphate batteries are apparently
far more stable and safe. So here is a link to read off a website, to read which I've seen before but I'm transforming
the green truck now. Anyhow, here is the link to the initial article

Sticking this here cause why not. I think Steve built a portable winch ( mistaken? can't remember ) fr and rear use?
But some guy is bugging people with trying to figure out how to winch his giant camper box van without actually attaching it
to the front of his truck. Someone posted this winch in a box. Now it intrigued me because I like the box. Nothing worse than having
something large and heavy but also tripping hazard and just enough to piss a person off managing it. Now I'm not a fan of the idea
of strapping this thing to the front like advertised, but a simple receiver that could be attached for front and rear use is kinda cool idea.
So that's why I posted it.

Sounds pretty cool, especially with all the accessories. Strongly recommend the synthetic cable option.

I did build one.

Im very happy with it and It’s been good so far. I haven’t used it for any extreme recovery yet, just utility winching.

Yes it fits front, back, trailer and other cruiser. I hatched this plan because I wanted a versatile farm style winch for working and was annoyed that mine used to sit on the front of one single truck out in the weather rotting. I used a warn 8274 because it was what I had, wasn’t my first choice it works but it’s heavier and chunkier than needs be.

Big fire visible from my place last night. Neighbor woke us and alerted us before we knew where it was. Was so huge, it seemed much closer than it was. Largest fire I've ever seen! Scaffold is leaning on power line in these pictures. (was a 90% built new condo).

Welcome to Canada. In the US they are having a BF25% sale online Toyota dealers. This sale includes shipping!!
So using a Pt Roberts address of a friend for both shipping and billing address, a coworkers cell phone from S Dakota
and my work email which doesn't identify as Canadian I was able to order a $605 USD muffler for the Tundra for
$343 including shipping to Pt Roberts. This muffler in Canada costs $855!! with nary a discount in sight. I'm lucky
my friend and I and his family drift back and forth on the ferry so that cost isn't really in play.
I've since sent an enquiry as to why doesn't Toyota Canada offer any kind of sale, EVER when for even another day
even in Japan Megazip offers 25% once a year discount?? I don't expect an answer..... assholes.

So who else is suffering from the sale of Shaw to Rogers? We have had a tech to the house twice, replace router
both times. Now after some digging get this, Rogers has standing policy of 'Streaming Throttling', which means
that we can have 4K TV, download their cable coaxial internet and only be allowed to stream at a 'maximum' 720 dpi.
So I have streaming for Premier League Football and the highest I can get is 480p because it's completely unable to
give me 720p HD. Just wondered if others are having the same experience. I've been on a couple of Rogers customer
forums, people are not happy.
Ironically I used to wait to come home to do large downloads from work as hotels usually aren't the best due to
limited bandwidths. Now last tour I could get 1080 FHD at 5 different hotels in 3 different states. Standard download
of work bundles take 3X longer at home now than hotels. Pathetic.

We have fairly basic shaw/rogers package, and it's rare to have bad resolution. When that has happened, usually it's specific to prime for example, and others like netflix would still be fine (can't remember which we had issue with, just example). Anyhow, it only happened couple times. Make sure your wireless router is close to tv.

Ours is good but I don't know the numbers, we ditched TV though and it's just internet and phone. Streaming is good and it's way better than Telus was. I stream F1 TV and it's good. My cell phone switched over to Rogers and it's still $25 a month plus tab with no roaming charges in the US, I had $45 a month roaming with Shaw.

Just internet here. No major differences lately, although we did discover something good for the parents actually.

They have a "low income" plan setup and my father in laws bill went from 180 a month to about half that. They don't really promote it much for obvious reasons  , I just wish we'd known about it ten years ago. He doesn't have much in the way of pensions, so wasn't exactly a stretch to qualify.

He actually has better internet than us now.

One reason I don't like newer cars.
GMC just cancelled its driverless taxi program, entirely! Because one of its' driverless taxis ran over, dragged and killed a pedestrian
lying on the road who had been hit by another normally operated car. The whole thing was a joke, if you saw the video of the entire
fleet on a rooftop parkade in a traffic jam trying to get out of the parking lot at once.
Go as far back as Takata has been making human carnage in the name of progress for their airbags, which are still the top tier airbag.
All new cars suck until a newer car comes along.
