On the CoastalCruisers page there is a thread on valve repairs. I’ve got this tool which allows a new rubber
valve core to be inserted from outside the wheel. It’s a bit cumbersome and takes some real technique to use.
One of the guys posted this ‘Colby Valve’. Very impressive. Just today a representative of Colby Valve got on the forum and answered my question - can they be reused? Seems they can. This makes for a really good tool to have
in the truck on road trips. Side of the road repair to damaged valve stem, after shop repairs just put the Colby valve back in
the tool bag for next time. Ironic, as just last night here at home on the Tundra I realized I’ve got a buggered valve on the RF wheel, so that’s first thing this morning.

No matter how long I'm going, even a day trip with Nick. I take way too much stuff. Let this story be a lesson.
This guy a person has to admire, kept it together and got through it. Bit of an idiot for using a GPS for trying to get around
a snow storm?? but anyhow he lived. I guess, always keep a big bag of rice to dry electronics - could save your life too.

I'm reminded of the dude that had a truck full of beer( might have been a 60)

Truck got buried in an avalanche, and he decided to drink the beer and pee his way out (might have been Russia)

Half Time! Arrived! These things are really cool. Complete unit, very high quality. Impressed. I recommend.

Those would sure beat breaking the bead on an inner dually that the valve extension broke the stem on... only had to do that 2-3 times. Only problem is I’d still have to pull the outer wheel, thus the need for the extension. Sometimes I hate duallies... :D

I don’t remove ripping one off on the 40... at least not in the last 25 years. Further back gets a bit fuzzy on unimportant sh!t like what caused which flat and why.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that a couple days ago. I imagine it'll take a lot of epoxy though...and hydrogen peroxide for that matter? Might need a UV lamp at this time of year. Pretty neat though for sure.
It'd be a thin slice so I wouldn't think that much epoxy...but no idea on the peroxide front.

Definitely a summer experiment...

Looking forward to seeing how they work out for you
The glass is pretty dark. I’m going to have to figure out a permanent bug screen for them. It’s too cold to pull
the side window tonight here. Tomorrow looks like a fire will be needed to soften up the mouldings. I had issues
with the SOR aftermarket sliders leaking, as they were flat too. I think once I get them in position and all loosely
attached I’ll look at talking to my glass guy about best polyurethane to use.

Are you replacing g the SORs?

We have a couple car elevators in town and more than a few times people have driven threw the doors in their rangerovers and bmw’s haha people driving into elevators to park in a underground parkade handle their vehicle about as well as they do in a parking lot.

I don’t know where they are. Up on a shelf somewhere
If they're up on a shelf, you probably didn't like them. Problems with fit and leaking?

Yup. I should expand. These gull wings have an inner component. The SOR were American cheap.
Just use the window gasket, except of course the frame is curved. So the corners popped out and SOR
just blew complaints off, instead of creating a solution. I’m pretty excited, these will be much better.

Thanks for your answer. I've heard that the flat glass sliders are not ideal. I really like your gull wing style ones, and look forward to your review once you've had a bit of time to test them. 👍

Rhetorical question: Do the Toyota dealerships really want any business outside sales of and new vehicle warranty work?
