I live on central coast of california and was just quoted $1000 per seat to redo the factory leather seats. This does not include new foam or anything of that nature. Is there someone that you would recommend in my area to check out or is there an online purchase of the material and I install it myself.

I agree with @Fj80oregon. I have this kit and the fit and quality cannot be beat. Hands down the best.

Do you know if Mosley's kit is the Katxkin leather kit? Their website mentions the Katzkin/Gentherm seat cooling & heating options Seat Heaters & Coolers — MOSLEY MOTORS - https://www.mosleymotors.com/seat-coolers/seat-heaters-coolers

Are the kits easy to install or did you take it to someone for installation?

I would take them to an upholstery shop and get new foam if your going through that much money I would want it done right. The cooling would be a sweet addition!

Look at @FitzyPDX has them in his rig.
thanks, Very nice looking Desert Moon 🌵🌙 1997 FZJ80 Build Thread - Land Cruiser Society - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/desert-moon-1997-fzj80-build-thread-land-cruiser-society.1343493/post-15577202
I just reached out to Mosely if they can send a leather sample. I'm looking at doing replacement this fall.

I’m very happy with them - some small issues but for the price they are solid. I did all new foam for the fronts and it made a huge difference. Do not buy their heating kits - have your upholstery do all of it with oem switches from Japan

Same here happy with Mosley kit. New OEM foam for the fronts. Kit leather is nice. Communication with Mosley is slow but overall happy with kit. Had local shop install.

Those do look really nice. I've been in communication with Katzkin but I need to see more of theirs as this looks maybe better.
Thanks for posting these pics
I saw that katzkins recreates the pleating the center sections have. Barely any of the reproduction people do that. Was in the 80 series FB page.

We went up to Land Cruiser Heaven 2 months ago to talk to them about the interior of our 80 Series. They had about 6 Land Cruisers on site with new interiors. We were pretty impressed with what we saw in terms of quality.

It might help IMHO if when posting photos of replacement seat leather the poster could also state the miles/years of use at the time the photos were taken.

IIRC there was one brand that looked good initially but started to flake or peel within a year or two??

FWIW

My pictures above are fresh install, taken in the upholstery shop parking lot at pick up.

This is what mine looks like after a couple of months. I’m seeing some scratches and imperfections with the Mosley set but nothing I’m terribly concerned about yet. Will keep my eyes on it to see how it performs. I haven’t yet treated the leather and I’m planning on giving them some love before the winter.
