Hello, I'm new to the LC seen. I've wanted one since I was a kid. My friends mom had a an Fj 60 and they still have it with 327K, that says something to me about durability. I think I got an ok deal on my 80, but it does need some work. It needs the knuckel rebuilt on the D/S. It looks like it's leaked pretty badly, it's got nasty gunk all over! I think I need to buy the kit that CDAN sells. I checked out a tech link on how to go about it but it's a little over whelming! If any one lives near Independence and can offer some guidance or help I can compensate.

First of all, welcome!:flipoff2:

Your front axle inner seal is toast - leading to the contamination of the bearing/birfield grease with the 80/90W in the diff. The repair of the seal is more straightforward than it sounds. It just takes a few hours a side and a lot of rags (a couple of beers help as well).

How may miles does your rig have on it? You may want to consider replacing both wheel and knuckle/trunion bearings & races while you are in there. As a minimum those will be cleaned and repacked regardless.

Can't help on the window, sorry.

It's got 155K on it. I contacted Molle to see how much the knuckle rebuild kit will cost...I think it was like 230.00. How do I become a member of TAC? I just signed up for a 1yr at TLCA.

Parts you will need:
2 Inner Axel Seals: Part #90310-35010 net $9.68
1 Gasket Kit: Part #04434-60051 net $153.45
4 Truin Bearings: 90366-20003 net $68.36
2 Seals ???: 90311-62001 net $18.96

I may have my seal part numbers backwards but this is what I needed to do mine and a few others. I purchased my wheel bearings from Cruiser Outfitters: 2 full sets / inner and outer for driver and pass where $80.00 total.

All pricing and part numbers were from December of 2004 and with TAC discount. You will also need to purchase Moly grease and wheel bearing grease.

Let me know if you want any help.

Zane
