I drive it every day to work and my drive-time is the best part of my day.

It's probably the new paint :flipoff2:

Bought a new van last year to serve as a better economy DD but we would always find some excuses to drive the truck as much as possible (which I find kinda odd as sometimes because of a nice day, while other times because 'it might rain today' :D).

DD mine since I got it at 135k other than this summer (picked up a motorcycle)... Just rolled 160k. Gas $$$ is a downer but I live close to work an plan my driving a bit more to consolidate trips to the store/lowes/wherever, etc..

Its only been out of commission 1 time unexpectedly (broke PS pump hose), rest of the times it was planed maintenance....

Welcome to the forum!:flipoff2: My 93 FZJ80 has just over 216k, and I drive it every day. I got it last Dec with about 200k on it. Lots of fun in those miles too. As has already been said, the gas mileage isn't the best, but what are you gonna do, buy a Smart car?

Thanks for the post, wife is having a bit of an issue with me wanting to buy a LC with 100k on it, went and looked at new tahoes, etc, but just don't like them, have wanted a LC since a teenager and since we have her car and I work from home most of the time, the demons are scratching at the door. Fixed up and drove two CJ7s until 20's and need a good excuse to get back in the woods.

same feelings man, but a fellow lister talked me into and helped me buy a 94 with 184k, as tight as any of my rigs I've driven in the past, love it, DO IT!!!

Wow, and I thought I was getting screwed with 200+ miles a week @ 10-11MPG... I even put midgrade in mine. How I can afford so much gas for this beast, at my age (19), is a mystery to me.

Oh, and I've got over 241,000 miles. :D

Funny story, while I was at work, some lady in a 2000 100 drove up. We talked for a minute, then I asked how many miles she had... She said that it was a lot of miles, about 110k. I jokingly remark "Well, I've still got you beat." She replied, "Really?", then I told her how many miles I had... Wow, that was the funniest thing I ever saw.

100K Cruiser beats a 10K Tahoe any day. I purchased mine with 95K on it 6 years ago. Regular PM and you will be good to go. Always good to have service records and run what your lookin at past this crew. Lots of great info on this forum.

no kidding, everyone has been pretty quick to throw out help

I have 228K and drive it everyday with a 40 mile commute round trip. I thought about buying a another car to drive daily but when you factor in insurance taxes cost of the car and maintenance it is maybe break even. I would rather drive the cruiser. Going for 500K then see whats out there.

Not to 150 yet, but DD all the time. Thought about a beater, high MPG car, but winter is here. Love it in snow-once the new tires arrive.

91 with 290k and counting still driving it daily about 25- 30 miles no ticks no funny noises running on 35s ... tlcs are just the shiz.... although i would like to get a diesel as a dd

Mine is my DD, has 421,000 km on it and is still going strong as ever.

I usually average about 12.5 l/100km or 23 mpg (real gallons not US:flipoff2:)

I am toying with the idea of putting a new 1HDT motor in it when it hits 500,000 as I would really like a turbo but worry about turboing a motor with so many k's on it.

At the rate I'm going at the moment I should have 1 million km on it in about 9 years. Yes I still intend owning it then.

167K.........wife drives it everyday & would not trade it for anything else.

She loves those......"is that your husbands truck......NOPE"

My '91 has 188k and I use it as a DD most of the week and alternate with the Audi occassionally. Although I do only work 10 miles from the homestead. Yeah, the gas prices are a little high here, but I enjoy driving the LC and only when I opt to drive like a bat out of hades, do I opt for the sports car....all the other times...it's the Cruiser!

I DD'd mine up until about 2 weeks ago when i broke down and bought an old toyota sedan for the sake of saving some gas money only.
My 80 has 300,000 on it w/ 35's and 4.88s.

Besides the 12mpg it was flawless as a daily driver.

Mine hasn't been DD's since July 2006.

It sits a lot of the time. I drive it on weekends....

Now it's under rebuild and won't be ready till about February...when I get her back on the road I will probably DD it for a couple of weeks to fine tune my rebuild. Then it will go back to the parking spot till needed (off-roading).

I have a 1992 SOB that I DD...30mpg is hard to not justify driving it.

DD is my modded M3... 32-35 mpg... As much as possible, my 97 modded 80... 380,000+ miles.
