Anyone running them yet? I'm due for new summer tires and the new Geolander M/T is in the mix. Going 37x12.5r17 this time up from 315's

I've run the original red label General Grabbers and a set of Toyo Open Country M/T's recently. I liked wheeling the Grabbers better but the Toyo's lasted longer and stayed in blance better. Toyos did crack between the tread blocks kind of weird in the end. Happened to a friend in town too? The Generals didn't wear as flat and got much louder in the end than the Toyo M/T

Toyo M/T is definitely in the mix again as are the new General Grabber X3's. Nitto Trail Grapplers are 4th down the list but are wider than others in the 37" size, which could cause more rubbing issues to address.

@wngrog put a set on an old Cruiser. There's a thread here with some discussion about the tires. Looks like a nice and aggressive MT with deep lugs and good shoulder too.

The G003s are probably the best MT on the market currently between tread design, compound, and construction. They are also close to stated size unlike a lot of other manufacturers.

I like my KM3 but I like the square tread block look of the G003

I really want to like the KM3 but i hate the ATish tread depth(18/32") and that the biggest 35' tire is only 34.5"...

I just ordered (4) 235/85R16 for my 71' FJ40 from Simple Tire, can't wait! I really wanted City Racer's 16 x5.5 steelies and center caps too, but couldn't swing it right now. I ended up getting some Wheel Vintiques 12 series smoothies for now on a 16x7 with 4" backspacing. I'm looking forward to getting these all mounted up and put on!

I got mine all mounted and balanced, can't wait until the snow melts up here so I can move my FJ40 up here to work on it and get these tires and wheels mounted on it! Corbert I wish I could give you a review of how they perform. I hear they run large compared to other tires, the 265/85R16's look massive next to the 31x10.50 R15 BFG KO2's on my Totota pickup!

About the only thing that bothers me looking at them is the massive void between the inner and outer tread blocks. That Just makes my noise radar go off compared to other tires in this category.

Nearly all the online reviews are from sponsored sources or magazine style that never really say anything negative as that risks advertising dollars. My local tire store is claiming great things over the Toyo. But his primary line is Yokohama so again taken with a grain of salt.

I have a set on my 75. 31x10.5r15

I've been impressed with them so far, 5000km in. This truck is my daily driver, so about 70% on road/highway and 30% trail use. The last set of mt's I had were toyo mt, so far these are slightly quieter but not much. I am however, very impressed off road with them. Very similar tread design as the toyo, but much softer. I do not have to run as low of pressure to get the same amount of traction (20psi fr 23psi rr) compared to around 10psi with the toyo. I've driven light mud, sand, snow and ice with these tires, and they don't shine on ice obviously.

They look aggressive. How's the noise on the highway?

Noise is one of the main parameters the tire manufacturers consider with the newly designed MTs. I was at the Yokohama X-MT launch and it is unreal aggressive but the way they designed them they were quiet on the road and likely would be for a while.

The Mt-G003....same.

I noticed you keep referring to the new Yokohama MT as the 2003, I think that may be confusing to others since the sidewall and website says G003. Was the 2003 moniker used during testing or something the rest of us arent aware of?

No, I’m just a moron. Sorry.
